Yes I agree that it doesn't make them the clear front runner as the team to win it all but the trade makes an already really good team better.

i don't know about that. ty lawson is one of their franchise cornerstones. nuggets would probably want to rebuild around him, faried, and nurkic. while ty lawson would be a significant upgrade over bev offensively, he is a defensive sieve. plus his contract expires in 2 years and i'm not sure if he's the type of player that morey would kill flexibility for. i will never doubt morey's wizardy, but it's hard to see us make a significant upgrade at the PG spot by the deadline.

You can't just disregard a player on a new team just because off on-off stats. Smoove was a big negative for Detroit, but he's been playing much better here. He could be a completely different player in a new team and role. He has talent to be a very good defender, but has been lazy in Boston. He also has a good 3 point stroke which Memphis needs badly from their wing position. If they can get Green to play his old caliber defense again this will make Memphis very very very tough to beat.
Jeff Green is soft but he addresses Grizzlies needs... 1) Price was trash. 2) Grizzles needed more scorers. Green can get them some points.
And also Jeff Green in his time with the Celtics has been known to be frustratingly inconsistent. Some games he can go off for 35 and be quiet some nights.
It's clutchfans. If the rockets would've got him everything would've been positive but since someone else did it's different. Jeff Green is a good pick up not because he's so good, because prince is terrible
Sounds like an older version of the Jeff Green at OKC. I'm sure he's a better player now though. As long as he exercises caution on the offensive end and clearly understands he's the 4th option.

The Grizz definitely need Green's scoring, but will his (lack of) defense keep him off the floor? This is a marginal improvement at best
Prince for Green straight up puts Mem into the tax by a slight margin. Grizz only need to dump a min contract. Then again Bos have an open roster spot after the Suns absorbed Wright's contract with an exception.
