Heard a rumor on Sirius NBA Radio that part of Bzdelik coming back included an understanding that he'd be HC if MDA ever got canned. I have no idea who the source was or how much creedence to give it.
I'm absolutely, totally buying that theory. But these f%$kers better get it worked out fast, because we're losing a season to this immature nonsense.
Hmmmm that a doesn't seem very Morey like to have a fall back when up until a week off ago we were slumping not sucking. I hope that's true though
Could have been a condition Biglydick insisted on when talking about returning. Tilman could've agreed out of desperation with our defense at the time.
Bzedelik's plan all along. Melo plays like crap and leaves the team. Players play like crap. MDA gets fired, Bzedelik takes over. Melo comes back and this team suddenly reels off 69 wins in a row to end up 69-13. itsaconspiracy.jpg itshappening.jpg
partly rule changes that hurt our offense partly not replacing ariza/luc partly not having coach B from the beginning of the season (lots of new players that needed a full training camp with him to learn the D) there are so many factors its not on any one of them alone.
@Codman... 1) Hope you're doing well, my brother. 2) Does anything you've heard make the above sound plausible? Whatever's going on seems like a much bigger deal than just a lack of personnel.
Popovich has coached at least a top 10 defense most of his NBA coaching career, he's had Duncan through almost all of it. After Duncan left, he still had Kawhi and Green, then got Murray. Spurs trade Kawhi and Green, Murray is out for the season, and so far Spurs are the 2nd worst defense in the league. Coaches can play a part, but in the end, you need personnel. One of the realities of the NBA is that generally, rookies and inexperienced players, even if they show flashes and put good effort will still be poor defenders just because of having to adjust and learn. Next, effort is needed, it is important, but it can't make up for slow feet, poor defensive tools (size, length, etc) and poor defensive IQ. Rockets need a bit more defensive talent and experience on the roster.
If there was ever a time to get info from the insiders it is now. @Nook implied that Harden and other core players are frustrated with the workload as it relates to the horrible bench production. Do all of this work all ot have the bench $hit the bed and lose leads etc. I buy this theory because that is the element that stands out. Worst bench production in the NBA. I think it saps the morale of the team. And we have EG out here saying he isn't having fun, and there needs to be more sacrifice etc. But really if EG was producing as the main bench guy, perhaps we wouldn't have this malaise we see from the starters at times. IDK.
