I think you have it backwards...McGee is one of the main reasons that team is terrible. Wizards will never improve until they get rid of him and Blatche. Two completely un-coachable knuckleheads.

these guys are hilarious. I always see highlights of John Wall, Mcgee, Nick young making shots and then having a walk or a reaction as if they were the 96 Bulls, almost everytime I see the scoreboard and they are down. Apparently that part doesn't phase them

You don't know the secret super alley-oop rule? Thought you were an expert man.
If they'd repeat bouncing the ball off the backboard 50x times while it never touches ground and then someone makes it, it'd count as 100 FGs.
It's named the "Jacoby Rule" and only true NBA fans(like Jacoby) know it.

Nice play, at least fans got something to cheer for and got theirs money work at least for a second. Dumb coach to take him out

I also don't really see the big deal. It wasn't even much of a show-boat. He had a ton of open space and time and did a little trick. I don't see how it fires his team up, as he alleges, nor that it's showboating like Flip says. He cherry-picked and got an easy shot, which he completed, and then got back on D. Nothing to see here.

I agree, I don't think it was that bad a case of showboating. Just a little gimmick for the fans.

Blatche I agree, but McGee is a player who doesn't need the ball. He doesn't need to be Einstein out there. Rebound, putbacks, oops, play D, and block shots. I don't think you can kick guys like that to the curb. I know he isn't a basketball genius, but he is huge, athletic, has a good motor, doesn't need the ball, and he has developed.

Who do you think is better? DeAndre Jordan or McGee?

He meant FG attempts, as in the pass off the backboard counts as a missed shot and a rebound followed by the made shot. I don't know if they scored it that way though.

It reminds me of a variation we played in high school where a made basket counted as 2 points but hitting the backboard counted for 1. The smart player would just get in close, throw it off the backboard, get the rebound and then rinse and repeat. If you were big and could rebound, you could get at least 5 or 6 points in a possession instead of just 2.

so what if he made the basket? just because he made the basket doesn't mean he did nothing wrong.
the point is he attempted a risky basket. what if he missed?
i feel that the coach made the right decision in benching him.

It didn't count as two FG attempts. I was watching the box score and they input it was a dunk with an assist from the guard (think it was Nick Young).

It's only showboating if you f*** it up.

I think his chance of getting the basket was reduced from 99.5% to 99.4%. It wasn't some kind of crazy 360, through the legs reverse or something. An NBA caliber player with his size should be able to execute that dunk from his hospital bed.
