Jason Terry knocking down threes in drills like they're layups

I feel like Jason Terry is like Bobby Jackson. I believe Jason would be better than Bobby.

 

Video shows a reason for hope! Jason Terry playing with all these red jerseys surrounding him, a red backdrop for home games, and a red practice gym....could be a really solid rebound year for him if he's fully rehabilitated on that knee. He wouldn't be buttering bread like that with all them threes if his knee was still nagging.

If NBA players did this all the time in practice, why would Clutch be impressed enough to create a thread for it? How many practices have y'all been to?

 

Adding another shooter to the rotation doesn't help. If the other players buy into the team defense concept I can see Terry/Garcia/Daniels/Canaan helping us a lot with our bench production.

I don't see Terry playing a whole lot of minutes though, its reasonable to expect 16-18 minutes a game from him. Barring any injuries, I hope he's more of a mentor to Nick Johnson (which is probably why Jason Terry was brought in here to do).

If all Terry does is light up Dallas every time we play them it'll be worth it just to have traded for him.

 

adding ANOTHER shooter? which real shooters did we have last year? parsons with is 40% first half and his abysmal 33% second half. We didn't have any true consistent shooters except for Daniels who played < 5 games last year.

Team defense is important too.

Having a shooter that can consistently knock down the 3 open or contested will indeed open up the offense. How many people other than Harden hit a 3 on an outlet pass from Howard? I know Tjones and Dmo were throwing up bricks and so was LIN.

 

You saw that Pap video of him shooting 3s on here? he hit 3 in a row then brick. Terry shooting is just show fluid, because he has shot so many in the NBA.

Anyone can make layups in practice but how many can reproduce that in a real game? Jason Terry hasn't won me over until he does something meaningful for us. Hindsight.

 

I think you guys are making to much of this video...If you've ever been to an NBA game warmup, almost all guards shoot like this... moreover

I went to 4 Rox games last year and always caught Lin and Harden knocking down 70-80% of everything they put up in warmups (mostly 3's).

 

Good for them. This is closer to 90%.

 

Terry has double the experience young guys like Lin or Harden have.
He has shot a lot more threes and made a lot more of them during season and in critical playoff games beyond the first round.

Posters remember his time in Dallas but I followed him a little when he was an Atlanta Hawk, he was scorer already back then.

So yeah, he won't get any younger but he can still shoot.

 

Troy Daniels 2.0?

 

Novak can shoot threes like that too.

the problem is that he sucks at everything else so he is mostly a net negative on the court.

Same can be said about old man Terry
