Depth is easy to get, especially if we are moving guys like Jones and Dmo to make space to sign LMA. Its those core pieces which are hard to get and you have to drop everything to get them, when you can. You would have 2-3 extra first rounders which you could trade over the course of the next two years to add depth. Not to mention, the cap keeps taking huge steps upward each year to add more role players.

If you have the opportunity to add LMA (or Love), you do it, without hesistation.

If you're moving D-Mo and/or Jones to get LMA, that's ok. You're not really sacrificing too much depth. It's more like replacing one or two of your current PFs with a player who's superior to both of them. But I disagree that it would be easy to replace the likes of Smith and Brewer. You can always find backups to add to your bench. But we've had to suffer through the likes of Omri Casspi, Jeremy Lin, Francisco Garcia, Jordan Hamilton, and the oft-injured Greg Smith in recent seasons. Let's not go back to that when we've got a couple guys who just helped us win a playoff series.

Injury aside, I'd rather have Love than LMA.
Neither are great defenders, though LMA is probably a bit better in that regard. Love is a better rebounder.

Fit wise, though, LMA requires lots of post-up touches, and doesn't have as much of a 3 point game or post-up game.

I mean, either would be great, no doubt.

The Rockets are REALLY good when TJones is on. Like championship level good. But he's so so volatile. Kevin Love's game is really similar to Jones, just much better and more consistent. There's some post up ability, some ballhandling ability, some three point ability, way better rebounding, and equally so-so at defending.

    Harden/Love/Dwight fits better.

But I don't see either happening, so who cares!

I'd rather have a healthy Donatas Montejunas than either one.

Offensively speaking, I'm not sure there's a better fit out there than Kevin Love at any position. He'll get 14ppg just off offensive rebounds & open 3's.

Damn he's been in the league for 9 years already? Time flies. Those are tweets that sound like he's a goner.

wow...LA is gone. Cyber bomb having ripple effects. That is exactly what Andre Johnson said before demanding a trade. Considering he is a FA, he is going out of the market, and Dallas, Houston or San Antonio could all be a real possibility. Morey salivates...that being said, I think the Rockets have a chance to win this season with the lineup as is. Call me hopeful, but I think the Rockets are yet to display its true prowess. They played down to competition with Dallas...I see the Rockets really announcing themselves in the 2nd round this season.

    Who is Lilliard?

Personally don't think he is a MAX player.

^ He's an offensive star that wants to stay with Portland. That screams max to me

Anyone know how long his surgery will take for him to be able to get back on the court? I remember him playing through a pretty significant thumb/hand injury.

If Chandler ****ing Parsons got his mini max there is no way in hell Lillard doesn't deserve his mini max.

What is Lillard's max? Same as Parsons was?

Why is Lillard looking to be extended this offseason? Why wouldn't he just play out his contract that way he can get a much bigger max when the TV deal goes through next off season?
