Jalen Rose was popping the trunk on Grantland and basically proclaimed LA to be a lock for San Antonio. He also liked Houston's chances of landing Love, but oh me oh my just imagine if we netted Aldridge?!

LMA isn't like some massive upgrade over Love, plus Love is younger.

    Houston 1st rounder
    Portland 1st Rounder

    Portland gets:
    Kevin Love
    Houston 2nd Rounder

    Houston gets:
    LaMarcus Aldridge

We have the trade pieces to make a deal work. I don't think we'd have to clear space. Might have to involve some combination of players and picks, even a third team (Detroit and their #8?), but it could happen.

As long as we still hold onto some way to upgrade / add to the PG spot.

Jason Terry is an UFA, and why do we have to give up more than Portland? Why not just trade for Kevin Love?

Getting LMA would be so nice.

Makes all the Jones/DMo/Smith talk not necessary...
Lessens the importance of the PG/guard talks.

    LMA
    Sergio Llull

Fill roster with backups as appropriate, which I believe DM should be able to do.

Of course, giving up someone like Ariza for LMA or Love hurts as much as it helps.

The team would basically have 0 versatile back-court defenders at that point.... which is a recipe for disaster.

I would think Love would be hesitant to be paired up with established stars even it meant a better winning situation for him. Playing the distant third banana in Cleveland has probably turned him off. He may just want to be the centerpiece of a developing team in a big market like New York or the Lakers.

Love and Aldridge are just about equal on the defensive end.

I'll take the guy who really wants to be here. I feel like LMA's personality would be a better fit.

Can't see La going to Dallas with parsons surgery being a mystery and them not even possessing a proper point guard. Even if they bring back Ellis and chandler with dirk coming off the bench they look weaker than the Blazers imo. They also are trying to bring back aminu and this years pf free agents are thin considering they don't want rondo and dragic will be staying in Miami. San Antonio seems more logical if he wants to win or the rockets if we can try moving some pieces around.
