This is a fantastic listen if you're at work; the guy is incredibly basketball smart, really funny, fantastic twitterer (@JaredDudley619), and best of all, doesn't have any of those verbal tics that lots of athletes have; he's going to be blowing up like Arenas, in terms of being an entertaining, open guy online. Jalen Rose-esque personality; he's already better than 90% of the idiots on ESPN who call themselves "analysts". I badly wanted this guy in '07; thought he was going to be like Battier, and thought that Charlotte gave up the two best players in the Diaw-Richardson trade. Have a listen, May 10th, first 25 min are Dudley
Good post. It was surprising how 'upfront' he was in terms of potential strategy against the Lakers. Ie. how he would try to flop against Bryant, match-up advantages and disadvantages, etc. Although I'm pulling for the Suns on this one, not sure if I would drink the kool-aid on his comments about Odom, and how playing Odom in the Lakers lineup will allow them to better take advantage using the smallball lineup. I think he'll be the X-factor against the Suns, and may be more of a matchup problem compared to Bynum. Watch him get offensive rebs galore if he's not scoring. If Robin Lopez comes back, not sure if he'll be a good add if he's not back 100%. Gasol's looked unstoppable so far.
Did you listen to the first podcast he was on? The guy is great to listen to as he speaks openly and honestly. No BS for him on the BS report.
