"Don't wanna take on Superman huh?" Anyone find this annoying? I know Shaq does. People refer to Dwight as Superman more than they do by his government name. When the guy wins 4 rings, get back to me.
Is it just me or is Julie Foudy HORRRRRRIBLE at interviewing? Since when is she on ESPN and who is responsible for putting her on air...the same person who thought Cynthia Cooper would be great on air?
Not much of an interview, just talking of what we all know about him and what can be found at youtube - his dunks. I was hoping it would be a bit more insightful. Anyone that's watched him play, his 26 ppg average, albeit D-league, just dunks or does he actually have game? This signing would make sense if he was going to be used but knowing that the rotation is set and RA's inability to play some on the bench who should play - Deke, doubt we'll ever see him play on this 10 day contract. Go Rockets.
He can do every dunk that was done in this year's crappy competition, except he can do all of them from the free throw line, simply amazing
Wow... That was a bad interview. "Hey James, we honestly don't care if you contribute in the NBA or not. Dunk, dunk, dunk, dunk, dunk, and dunk..." I hope this guy can actually do other things too...
Superman was always a dumb name for Shaq. His best name is Big Diesel because it makes complete sense. Superman fits Dwight Howard perfectly.
Does he intend on trying to make the team? Obviously, he can play or Morey would not have added him to the roster but it would be nice to hear (or see) some of the non-dunking things he is good at.
I don't think Superman would look so robotic in the post. Dwight needs a nickname that actually fits an athletic big guy whose strength is overrated and has absolutely no fluidity to his game. I agree with you about Shaq. Diesel was perfect for him.
Sounded like his whole goal in the NBA is to make the dunk contest. Yo James, we got enough Gerald Greens in the league.
I'd blame most of that on the interviewer. All she asked about was his dunks. No questions about how is it like playing with his new teammates or nothing.
Don't blame him, blame that interviewer. That was a horrible interview. She could've asked him a lot of stuff about his career goals and how he's changed as a player, etc., but no, it was dunk, dunk, dunk contest, dunkers, favorite dunks, dunks, and more dunks.
It's ESPN. Career goals and player transformations aren't going to cut it for the Top 10 plays. Dunks certainly will. I would imagine they are disappointed that he joined the Rockets of all the teams. Some James White dunk on Yao would have been so delicious and yummy for ESPN ratings.
