He needs to learn that he's a star player now and team will focus on him. He does not have to take shots every time.

The game against the lakers showed that he is an exceptional play maker and creator, and he needs to learn to do that more.

James harden is a stud guys, this comparison is a joke and iv like oj mayo since he was a middle school phenom. Harden is already putting up elite numbers on the youngest team in the league no training camp never been a starter and oh ya he's 23 and has HIS team 9-8 in the 6th seed as of now. Now just think of how good he's gonna be when he's 26? Or 28? And 29? And 30? Lol harden is gonna avg 30 6 and 7 very soon. Wait till the game slows down for him he already knows how to make winning plays the lakers game showed this he's def somebody that can take u to the chip with he right crew and he's for sure a #1 option. There not a gm in the league that doesn't think harden is a max player I ill bet the bank on that. 23 guys really this is incredible stuff were seeing and he's only going to get a lot better. How many guys do you know that have there beat season at 23?

Sorry for the bad spelling and not spacing out my sentences. I'm on my phone but I just get really hyped talking about harden he's already a top 15 player in the league. Rockets got extreamly lucky on this one. It's like having Carmelo or wade or hell even Lebron being traded from there's teams after the rookie deals its just not gonna happen and is unheard of. Morey rigged the system on this one lol.

Mayo shot poorly and had some bad turnovers tonight

but he filled up the stat sheet in other categories. He's pretty good

The thing that separates the two, is that Harden still has a ton of potential

Mayo is not going to keep shooting the 3 like he has. When you adjust for usage, and his 3%... he is the same player as he has been in the past.

Harden is more athletic and has a higher BBIQ.

This is a simple question. It has nothing to do with a discussion of James Harden vs OJ Mayo or Michael Jordan, however.

OJ Mayo is a good scorer but he isn't the same player as Harden. To me, Mayo is similar to Kmart who both players are great shooters and plays off screen while Harden is a better scorer but he is a great playmaker as well.

But no doubt Mayo is a great shooter and handle the ball well. But as an all around player like Harden, he's not even close. Harden put up higher scoring averages as well as higher RPG and APG. But overall, Harden is a better 1st option than Mayo is.

Instead of just saying Mayo is better than Harden and come at a better bargain, why don't you explain your opinions instead. Yes Mayo is a great shooter, but Harden is a better all around player and a better 1st option.

Mayo isn't worth the same amount of money Harden is worth and the Mavs got him cheap for a reason. You can say both plays hero ball at times but Harden is the only capable player in Houston that can hit big shots along with maybe Parsons. Mayo definitely has a better overall team because they have much more experience than Houston does.

Are you serious? He didn't say being old makes you better. He meant having more experience helps a lot more. The Rockets are a lot better potentially, talent and skill wise but lack of experience can cost a lot of games.

The Rockets are the youngest team in the NBA. Even with the talent and potential they have, the Rockets will struggle most often because their lack of experience. You can't expect the Rockets to be one of the top teams while also being the youngest and least experience also. The Mavs are much older than Houston but they are a veteran team with a veteran coach. They can execute down the stretch much more smoothly because of their experience.

Being more experience doesn't mean that they're better but they won't make the same type of mistakes a young team would make. So overall, James Harden with a much younger and less experience team has a better record so far up to date than OJ Mayo with a more experienced team....

Rather have Mayo. Much cheaper contract so we can get a real max level player.

He is also (tied for 1st) leading all players in turnovers, he is tied with Kyrie Irving with 4.1/game. I was shocked to see he had that many turnovers
