but a lot of the contested shots he is doing is contesting threes, he is actually 8th in the league at doing that
Also 2nd on the team in deflections behind ariza by 7 2nd on the team in loose balls recovered behind beverley 5th in charges drawn (which I'm not incredibly fond with him committing)
I took the liberty of adding Wins to that chart, the Green Dots. Yes, Tiny Archibald is off the chart at the bottom with 39 wins. Another adjustment to the chart would be to do Points (the Yellow Bar) as Points per 100 possessions, since all those players were playing 10-12 minutes per game more than Harden and Westbrook, in those seasons.
Harden = MVP based on stats, he's averaging 8 rebounds now along with almost 30 points and a solid 11 assists which translates to winning games. Westbrook's 2 rebounds extra do almost zero in extra wins so it's pretty clear, although the media likes to pretend WB is ahead and it's close. It's not close.
Dayum, he should keep that a secret. Now Westbrook is going to stat pad until he achieves it this season, too. He's 282 assist points away, and at his current rate he will get 240 more. So, he'll have to engineer 20 or so more assists.
Media obsession this season with the triple double is kind of arbitrary. There needs to be more publicity for that points produced stat. I bet the Rockets will put out a dossier of statistical feats that Harden achieved this season to counter act all the triple double hype.
