Sure because if Twitter teaches us anything, it's the incredible permanence with which individual tweets are fixed in the cultural zeitg -- HEY WAIT ANOTHER TWEET! -- Wait what was I saying?

funny thing of the few absolute Harden haters out there, none of them want to ship him out simply because they won't get anyone better than Harden at this point

durant who with WB, Serge, and a 3 to 1 lead was still swept by GSW had to run to GSW with his tail behind is ass and team up with Curry, Klay, & Dray to form a super team?

you know he didn't even have the balls talk to the rockets because even with harden he dreaded fighting for wins and opted to be carried by 3 other superstars?

and Davis who had RA and EG and a solid team built around him can't even take them nowhere?

Like I said Harden is a rare breed, a max guy who values loyalty. He was the same in OKC, he had no complaints coming off the bench when he was backing up some no-name and he hinted that if OKC didn't trade him he would considered a less than max offer to stay.

Houston is pretty lucky to have him and he should be untradeable even for other superstars because other superstars don't sign for 6 yrs and lock themselves to the team.

Lebron with KI and Love = I won't sign

both PG and WB already playing with each other = let's see what happen's during the season

Durant with Curry, Klay, and Green = sure let me take a paycut to make sure I've got 3 other superstars around me

Harden by himself = lock me up!

Kudos to this kind of commitment, but he can't tie Chris Paul down or others.

I am not sure that is necessarily a bad thing for oneself.

You can be committed to one team or you can be committed to chasing rings, to winning on the biggest stage.

If KD admitted to himself he is no clear Alpha and wants help, and the help isn't coming, and they trade Harden and Ibaka, what's left to do to win a ring?

And Russ as good as he is, is a loose cannon. You gain some, you lose some.

I am not sure this situation is so different.

Saying Harden would have signed with OKC had they not traded him, would be true to an extent.

But he would have never had this opportunity of being the No 1 option.

You could say Harden is loyal or you could say Harden just does not want to undergo drastic changes of environment, not if he can prevent it himself.

that's my point.. why would a rockets fan who has a team without any stars want "no clear alpha Durant" instead of Harden??

just contrast what Durant did when he still had WB and Oladipo

when Dwight left and made Harden the only star of a team surrounded by role players what did harden do?

he doubled down, took them to 55 wins/3rd seed over all behind a super team and a championship calibre team and ahead of multi-star teams, and was MVP runner up along the way

One point you did leave out...... Houston made Harden their No 1 option at a time when he was a glorified 6th man.

He is just paying back to the city, to the team who gambled on him.

It's a good match regardless if he can bring a championship or Lebron or others to this city.

Let's just watch this season unfold. And how well we improved on Defense.

not sure what that has to do with his loyalty in this day and age

KD, WB, Lebron, PG, heck even CP3 = aren't loyal

he can only give is all which is more or at par than what other superstars can give. if houston with Harden & CP3 can't beat superteam GSW, it's will be hard to blame harden

not sure if you watched last season.. his effort, hustle, and defense was at par with other superstars

Paying back? Why does he have to "pay" Houston back for anything? It was a mutual decision, Htown pays him the big bucks and Harden plays like a superstar there is no "debt" to be paid here because Houston gambled on him for their own benefit. Its like if Mcgregor and Mayweather have a fight and somebody bets on Mayweather and wins big, Mayweather doesn't owe that fan anything in fact you can argue it is that fan who owes Mayweather because he earned him money, in the same way Houston owes Harden because Harden playing like a superstar attracted so many players like Nene, Dwight, Cp3 etc. and Harden gave Houston its first WCF run in 20 years.

Teams making superstars their no 1 option is common sense not a favor to the superstar. And being the no 1 option and getting max money didn't prevent KLove, Paul George, Durant, Hayward, Horford etc from leaving their old teams.
