OK, but I won’t settle for anything less than second place.

Why are we talking about some scrub who put up less than his season average tonight?

Harden will once again finish as the Scoring Champion of the NBA this Season. He will end up averaging about 32 points per game. He will drop down average because he doesn't need to put 40 every night once our injured players are back and hopefully someone good thru a trade too

At this point to only average 32 by seasons end he would have to take a big dive. I think realistically he ends up somewhere around 33.5-34

Yeah man I believe after 40 points tonight he would have to average 20 or so to bring it down to 32. That isn't happening. If he rests it will come more in sitting out 2-3 entire games.

Keep it going Harden. We needed every single point from him tonight. Great Defense by Harden tonight.

unbelieveable .. these are not a single basketball player's numbers

its more like what a team scores for a half

I think harden season end avg will be 35.

He’s only got 31 games left he should go for it the team needs him to score this much I don’t get advocating for him to shoot less.

    Less minutes? Yes I’m down.

Less shots changing the way he and the team plays? No way I’ve seen us beat every good team this year playing this way.

    Why change?

Only thing that changes with cp3 and Clint coming back is he plays with more talent around him which makes him and the team more efficient and also makes our bench better.

Rockets need 35+ point harden it’s what makes this team elite especially if we rebound the ball. Our D is legit when we do that.

First mega PROPS to JayZ750 for this thread--this is the kind of great topic we need to be jawing on and I just saw it!

So far in 2019, we've played 13 games and James has averaged 43.3 PPG! That's insane over that stretch. We've needed every point as it just seems we can't find consistency from our other shooters. Gordon has started to bring it and I love what he's doing on defense, but PJ, Rivers, and Green need to start steppin' up.

I'd truly would love to see Harden average over Jordan's 37, win MVP and lead us to the trophy. All the haters would have to chew his dirty socks and spit out the vile garbage they've been spewing.

If our team gets healthy his assist totals will go up as well. He's having the most efficient and amazing offense season ever. What a true joy to watch this man play!!!

Right on. And you're right he should be averaging at least a few more assists a game. Some of the team are missing a LOT of wide open shots.

Well, he's still inching up, just a bit slower, lol. He averaged 38.17 over the 6 games since I last updated - the slacker!
Crazily... that's basically exactly what he needs to average to hit MJ's max for the rest of the year (would have to take it out to decimals).

    As of 2-05-19

    • Games played = 50
    • Points = 1825
    • Average = 36.5
    Remaining potential games = 29

Average needed over remaining games to finish season at:
    • 33 ppg / Must average 27.0 to finish season
    • 34 ppg / Must average 29.7 to finish season
    • 35 ppg / Must average 32.4 to finish season
    • 36 ppg / Must average 35.1 to finish season
    • 37.1 ppg / Must average 38.1 to finish season
    • 38 ppg / Must average 40.6 to finish season
    • 39 ppg / Must average 43.3 to finish season
    • 40 ppg / Must average 46.0 to finish season
So to top MJ and only be behind Wilt, Harden has to average 38.10 to finish the season.

Kobe might be the better benchmark now. To stay ahead of Kobe and be the 3rd best person in terms of PPG ever, he has to hit 33.50 points average the rest of the way... more than doable.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Harden could decide to show mercy to opponents, not score a single point more for the rest of the season, and still average 22.26 points a game.

He could go scoreless for 35% of the season and still be good for 18th in the league in scoring, as of today. Blows the mind.
