Bosh is 1 year older than Lebron... Bosh was killing it as the number 1 option for Raptors, No doubt, he returns to playing like he did if Lebron isn't there. Just look at the triple OT game and Wade may be a step slower but he is still a superstar.. at any given time, he can take over the game. I'm not saying Lebron is not valuable, he makes them contenders instead of just being a good team.. oh and btw, the heat play better when wade plays, i would put some stats here but i can't find them, it was shown on NBA TV game time show....
Killing it? Bosh was missing the playoffs with the Raptors too, you know. He put put up great individual numbers one year in 2010 and that was it. Those stats are misleading because they are all playing alongside Lebron. If Lebron was not on the team, that is not a good nor a playoff team.
Maybe. The first reply in this thread is about how you need your team to be good. Sounds like that guy is similar to a lot of analysts... what your winning percentage is a third of the way through the season is what it will be at the end. A lot of people out there calling things early. Rockets continue to get better and could end up with a top 3-4 seed (as improbable as this may sound). If that happens, he has a very nice chance.
Harden winning MVP is possible, but unlikely: 1) He needs to continue inching his scoring average up toward 30 points, 25ppg isn't going to cut it. Needs to be at least 27 in my opinion. 2) The Rockets would need to hold their own for now, then go on an absolute TEAR in the second half of the season against the easy part of our schedule and wind up in the top 3 seeds. If those two happen, then he will have a chance (no guarantee though) at winning the MVP award. Hard to ignore a guy taking a team full of rookies & second year players that far if it happens. Don't count on it!
Hi, 1st time poster here, but I've been reading the forums for a while now...found this img somewhere and I just wanted to share it
I love Harden...LOVE him. Dude has been ballin lately. But he's not even in the running. He just isn't on Lebron, Durant, or Melo's level.
Melo has no business being in the same conversation as Durant or Lebron. Put Harden on the Knicks, and their record would probably be better than what they have now (or at the very worse around the same). Knicks have good spot up shooters and a good pick&roll center, and these are the types of players Harden thrives off of the most. Harden and Chandler pick&roll would be unstoppable.
Seriously, Harden is at Melo's level in my book. Better efficiency, more assists, only slightly less rebounds, a little lower usage. Neither of them play defense, so what's the big deal about Melo? There are three players right now who are definitely better than Harden, and those players are LeBron, Durant, and CP3. You can go back and forth all day between Kobe, Duncan, Harden, and Melo for #4, but the fact is, Harden is playing like legit superstar this season.
I mean...I'd probably agree that Lebron or Durant are more deserving than Melo...but surely you're aware of the MVP love that Melo is getting. And rightfully so...dude is playing out of his mind on a top team in the league.
Considering in the Last month he has Probaly been the hottest player in the leaue, thats not a valid argument.
Knicks are not the top team in the league. The Lakers, Clippers, OKC, Heat, Grizz, Spurs and few others are better.
Carmello is very underrated on this board especially this season. Say what u want, but carmello has never missed the playoffs. This year, he's been playing great. If the knicks, heat, and thunder have close to same record, he might get it.
He also only passed the first round once in his career in 9 appearances, and the only time he passed the first round was when Billups joined the team. And let's not forget how talented the Nuggets were during the Anthony era. He isn't underrated, he is where he is at. A very prolific scorer, but that's it.
Melo is a dangerous first option. He's huge and creates a mismatch no matter what position he plays. His shoulders are so wide he gets away with a lot of pushing just based on his body type. You can count on him to be able to iso and score with high efficiency. The guy is a scoring machine, even more so than Harden.
If he leads the Rockets to a top 4 seed in the west then he will be considered. Team record has a big impact on who wins MVP, its why Steve Nash and Derrick Rose won them despite never being worthy. It's also why David Robinson won it in 95 despite the fact that Hakeem made him look like a high school scrub in the playoffs. If your team has a mediocre record, you aren't going to win MVP even if the entire world knows that you are the best player.
Melo is a team cancer, who doesn't know how to play without dominating the ball. He's a Tmac type player, who revels in his own greatness when he's great but doesn't think about what life would be like if he won a championship, nor does he care to put in the work load to accomplish that feat. Basketball is just something he gets paid to do. Real winners don't play basketball to collect a paycheck. They do it because its what they love to do, its a hobby more than it is a job. Melo is just another overhyped superstar, who will only win a championship if the NBA and David Stern decide to gift him with one like they have done with other primadonna superstars.
