Ironically, if Harden cut down his turnovers by reducing cute, lazy passes (we all know he has several of those in a game), his +/- would've been better.

If Michael Jordan would have averaged 5 more points per game the Bulls would never have lost to anyone. 82-0.

    See how this works?

Edit: MJ averaged 2 assist per 1 turnover. Which is exactly what Harden is averaging right now.

You have terrible reading comprehension if you thought I said that.

ESPN has sway yes, but MVP is not decided by ESPN or the fans but by other media members all of whom have their own assessment of who is deserving of MVP.

Similarly, what makes you think Harden reducing TOs will somehow change the narrative from ESPN? Their own employee (Mark Jackson) called them out publicly on national television for their obvious bias. They will just bring up +/-, or Eric Gordon's numbers, or the bench numbers instead. They are biased and are favorable towards Westbrook and that's completely fine, but at the end of the day basketball reference is giving Harden the overwhelming odds in winning MVP, and most other networks (including NBA.com) currently consider Harden the favorite. That's all that matters.

Unlike Harden, Jordan is revered by many people because he plays hard and two ways. When you already have "no defense" narrative going against you, no need to give more excuses to hate your game.

when you got "no defense" + "turnover machine" narrative going against you, good luck winning MVP.

How much defense did Curry play when he won MVP? How about Steve Nash (thank you MDA) when he won 2 MVP awards? Let's think critically here, this will be your final move before you become the first member of Clutchfans that I had to ignore.

People liked Curry and Nash's game. I don't think you get what kind of an uphill Harden is facing in this MVP battle. He needs to be near perfect to win people's hearts and minds. Can't have glaring flaws like turnovers.

He's at the top of Marc Stein's list, among others. The narrative around the turnovers is that Harden has to create everything and thus Harden is given a lot of slack in that regard. Yay MVP

The battle is OVER if Westbrook can't keep up with the winning. How valuable can you be when you can't even consistantly lead your team to Victory?

I think last night proved that Harden just rides the coattails of his superior teammates like Montrezl Harrell.

Sorry, folks, the Rockets are just so stacked with talent that I can't justify giving the MVP to Harden.

This. The better record was the tie breaker. Unless they give the mvp to LeBron again, no **** for brains writer, not named Kevin ding or Sherwood Strauss, can blatantly choose wb over harden out of pure spite.

Some writers despise Harden, we get it. He is fat. Their brains can't understand what he does with the way he looks, they give up and they think he's cheating.

It is a two man race for mvp...LeBron or Harden because Thunder isn't going to get a better wc record than four and could slip down to six. Curry and Durant with the better record cancel each other out.

Joomba is pretty hard headed. He makes up his own flawed narrative and sticks to it. Sort of annoying

You mean "soon to be MVP" Montrezl Harrell? He only had 1 turnover and was a +9.

Harden has a ways to go to surpass Harrell on my MVP ballot.
