Yeah this "perfect triple double" is going to seal it for Westbrook. The media is just amping up WB's positive coverage to ensure the trophy goes to him. Like I've said before, **** it. Let this be fuel to Harden's fire. Let's win the trophy that matters, because I believe we do have a shot at it.

Harden has really struggled against OKC this season.

If the Rockets win: "The MVP race continues! Harden holds off Westbrook for now! It's gonna come down to the wire! How will Westbrook respond?!"

If the Thunder win: "The MVP race is over! Westbrook is the MVP and at this point you cannot deny it!"

I'll bet $5,000 bucks that's the ESPN company line come Monday. Hell...$10,000 bucks. Hell...my life savings.

Someone needs to slap that douche Marcellus across the face with the Nuggets-Cavs box score from last night. He straight up denigrated Harden's amazing stat line from the other night, while propping up Westbrook's abysmal game, simply because we played the Nuggets and OKC played the Warriors. Well the Nuggets completely DESTROYED the Cavaliers last night, and LeBron posted a -30 +/-. I bet you won't hear that dumbass say two words about it though.

The more Harden outperforms Westbrook, the more the media will compensate. The more Westbrook outperforms Harden, the more the media will exaggerate that gap. Should be expected at this point. They want Westbrook to win. Hell...they NEED Westbrook to win, which is why he likely will win.

And we needed every single point from harden but the Rockets have the better team, right?

Sure, he scored 51 points, but did he shoot a perfect 6-6 from the field? No? Harden missed a shot?

    Welp...Westbrook better!

How does anyone not understand this? Westbrook is the MVP, Harden is a chump. I'd rather have my superstar go a perfect 0-0 from the field and make 10 FTs and notch a triple double

Stein has a vote? Welp there's a 1st-place vote for NOT Harden, would be lucky to see Harden in his top 5.

The most hilarious thing about this information that you've posted is this "perfect triple double" their losing their minds about is ranked as the 41st best triple double of this season.

Edit: Also cutting it off at 11 is very arbitrary in my opinion considering Westbrook takes the next 6 out of 7. Harden still stacks up favorably if you do top 5, top 10, and top 20. The top 25 is lilteraly all James Harden and Russell Westbrook with one game from Elfrid Payton and one from Lebron.

Kobe finished 4th in the MVP race back in 06 because he didn't win enough despite having the best or most impressive season...the same thing better happen to Westbrook

the difference between Kobe and Nash's numbers back then was much greater than the difference between Westbrook and Harden's as well

Westbrook always plays well against the scrub teams of the NBA and seems to occasionally play well against playoff teams

I wonder how Westbrook and Harden's numbers stack up against the top 10 teams in the NBA?

2 years ago it was "Whose TEAM had the best season because of the individual?" Now it's "Which INDIVIDUAL is having the best season, regardless of his team?" Sports media is full of the most hypocritical, low-brow, smarmy journalists this side of the political media.
