It does not matter how many games Milwaukee wins. Narrative will just be Giannis didn't have as much help.

Same with the Rockets. Does not matter how much they win. We've had multiple years of evidence showing this.

We're all disappointed Harden finished runner-up twice, but stop being silly:)

    Harden cares.

    FMVP doesn't guarantee a championship.

I have the same feelings towards this award as I did with Altuve. Judge can have it.

I'm not sure what is silly about that.

Harden has been on the wrong side of both the stats argument and the wins argument. It is proven that the results do not matter with him.

If Harden continues to be "in the conversation" I'll keep posting about it...but I know the score.

Last year was a real eye opener in terms of "just how much" narrative comes into the equation at the expense of the factors that were used for consideration for the award. Once the precedent gets eschewed like that, all bets are off.

I want him to get both. He deserves an MVP.

It is frustrating to look at Harden's contemporaries and see they all have either MVP or Finals MVP and he has nothing.
Curry, Durant, Westbrook, Leonard, LeBron, Wade etc. And then see younger guys like Giannis about to pass over.

I don't care if Harden wins the MVP. He can be the worst player for all I care. All that matters are championships

In a vacuum. But we see it’s not just about numbers or wins anymore. Anything based on the writers is all about narrative. Harden for whatever reasons is not liked by the media, it’s already started with the Giannis MVP.

he just gets glossed over all the time...he had 1 of the most efficient 50 point games in NBA history and there was barely a mention...his team is 8-3 with no CP3 and it’s crickets from the media

ESPN freaking put him 8th in their player rankings even tho guys like Giannis, AD, and Russ who were ahead of him haven’t proven that they can guide a team to 50+ wins like Harden nor be the engine of an elite offense like Harden can

I agree, he’ll never have the narrative on his side

they were prepping Giannis or Lebron to be the MVP before the season even started

When the media uses the "narrative" as the main basis:

    * Efficiency is boring and dull. Also leads to "boring wins."
    * Angry, aggressive histrionics, dunks, memes, and feuds drive discussions.

What frustrates me is I get it from the First Take crowd. But I don't see enough "stats geeks" being more demonstrative on Harden's behalf.

Although Curry won it in 2015, I can't really fault the media there. Best player on the best team thing, plus he had great numbers. But Harden should have definitely won it last year. Russell winning it was an absolute joke and Nike probably played a part in that too.

I agree. I accept the curry mvp that year but the westbrook mvp last year was trash lol.

I had figured that the Kashii for MVP narrative was going to be pushed this season, but i guess its kinda hard to do when he's been hurt

I had Kawhi being next in line after last season, but yeah, with him missing so much time with that injury he’s out of it this year

the media has latched on to Giannis, but his team is so mediocre...this really should be Harden’s year if MVP voters were objective, everything is lining up for him to be the winner
