As a Brazilian with two testicles and a Rockets fan for more than two decades, I feel like I could take over the forum as my fellow countryman did with the game yesterday.

...but what does this series/this game have to do with the regular season/a regular season award?

It confirms existing beliefs about the two teams.

Can't really say Harden played better than Russ overall, and I don't think MVP voters changed their mind based on this series. But Westbrook's 4Q performance is one legit area of criticism.

They can deliver Statbrook his MVP trophy to his house, USPS 5-day service.

I think Westbrook deserves the MVP over Harden.

It's not the stats that make me change my mind. It's just the hustle and energy he plays with, and that OKC team is really really really awful with him on the bench.

    And Harden isn't without flaws.

If the Thunder were better off the bench and overall Russ probably doesn't have a triple double average and wouldn't be the MVP

You know what happens when Russ has other good players on his team? His usage is down, his numbers are down... and he still struggles in 4th quarters of playoff games.

I know this to be true because it's factually what happened.

They came within a hair of beating OKC last year. He has his cold spells but a lot of players do. If Durant was still in OKC, naturally he doesn't get a triple double. But I don't think that's true if he has a bunch of 3 point shooters and no Durant.

I don't think Harden got screwed, although I don't necessarily agree with crowning Westbrook as the MVP either. In all honesty, Harden's contribution to this team's success this season is a little exaggerated; of course he's by far the best player on this team, but Harden is not the sole reason why we won 55 games, and I'm saying this based on various stats that measure impact. In terms of squeezing out the wins by himself and carrying a bigger load, Harden was much more impressive back in 14-15, when he really did deserve that MVP trophy.

They should have won but didn't. Largely because of 4th quarter playoff Russ.

And naturally Russ stats would be worse. It's just usage. It'd just be down. It'd have to be. He led all NBA history in usage.

Well. Remember when everyone was creaming themselves about how clutch Westbrook was in the 4th?

Willing himself to victories over team such as the mighty Mavericks.

    I remember.

With this logic Kawhi and Curry still have a shot.
