what i meant was, the actual voting doesnt take place the day after season ends does it? obviously its a regular season award. if the voting takes place after 1st round, some ppl may sway their decision and be biased because of the result of 1st round playoffs. but if the voting does take place before the playoffs even start then ignore my comment.

Votes are due a day after the regular season ends.

Ethan Strauss is everything I hate about sports journalism, but then I look over at Calvin Watkins and I'm like, "That could've been you, man."

Speaking of Harden, if his wrist really is hurt, he should be sitting out of some games and getting healthy. Why is he playing? We have nothing to play for right now. It seems he is merely just trying to show off his toughness and durability. Take one for the team. Rest. Get 100% well for the playoffs. We are going to need that.

It's unfortunate, but Rectalgia Russell is probably going to get the nod for MVP.

It's not a media conspiracy, but all of the "topical" basketball fans/voters-- who don't analyze the overall impact of individual players on their respective teams--will over-value all of Russ' triple-doubles without understanding why he achieved the feat. Not to take anything away from him, but it appears that his trip-doubs are, to a large extent, his way of silencing critics that claimed he couldn't play at a high level without Durant.

Personally, I don't believe that Russ is as focused on winning as he claims to be. Overall, the OKC roster is in a development stage, which I'm sure RB recognizes, and without the likelihood of taking out the Warriors/Spurs/Rockets, he's settled for stats over advancing in the playoffs. Sure, Russ is a damn good guard, but without him getting a trip-doub or taking an excessive amount of shots, OKC hasn't shown the firepower to consistently win. Actually, if Russ didn't take so many shots (many ill-advised), that roster would show its true talent. Guys like Victor, Dougie, Steven and Taj are much better than what they're allowed to do in a Russ-dominated offense.

Hell, Enes Kanter is quickly becoming one of my favorite forwards; he has the footwork and touch to take over a game in the post. But, because it's Westbrook's team and those triple-doubs are so important to him "showing up" the Warriors/Media, Kanter won't be able to show his potential until this "Chasing The Big O" season is over.

Analysts will argue that James' stats are simply a result of being moved to PG in MDA's system. That's not the case. If you put Russell in this offense, his stats wouldn't be close because he's too focused on scoring. James has shifted his basketball psych towards strong decision- making and facilitating an offense.

Like many of you ,who are able to think beyond the lines of a Rockets fan, this MVP race is not even close. Russ has put together some amazing stats. James has helped to transform a team's offense/defense, systematic vision and he's become a valuable leader, all while being, as Mark Jackson describes him as, the "...Most unique offensive weapon in the league." I agree with that sentiment, but then again, it doesn't recognize Jame's stronger commitment to defense.

    This season: James>Russ=Kawhi=LeBron

Did GA say he had a vote? He didn't have one last year or the year before.

Funny how the co MVP talk is starting to heat up? I think there might be something to it and honestly it would be just deserved by both those guys.

At 5:52, does Skip say that if Russ was on the Magic, they would be better than the current Thunder w/Russ????

I honestly feel like the public opinion has shifted in Harden's favor lately. No MVP has had less than 50 wins in the last 35 years.

Then Broussard says if the Thunder were in the East, they would be better than the Celtics and battle Cleveland for the 1 seed. This is ridiculous.

It'd be fine for Co, at least better than the all team snub, that was just terrible.

I'm more interested in playoffs performance and making noise but I think it'll definitely look good for Houston to get future stars.

There is only a tiny chance that the voting finishes in a tie. It would be like winning a bad beat jackpot at a casino. The NBA would have take upon themselves to declare co-MVPs
