Thank god for some common sense in this thread. Espn can go suck it. Harden is playing for wins and championships, not to please the *****heads on TV. Houston is no stranger to the hate. It's what fuels us to strive to do better. Reminds me of when they gave Dream's MVP to David Robinson and Dream went on to Dismantle him.

The Wizards know he's an MVP candidate.

Really? Kevin Love, Curry & Dragic play better D than Harden?

My comment on ESPN: How do you vote for Kevin Love & Goran Dragic, both who are so 'Valuable' that they couldn't lead their team into the Playoffs, but leave off James Harden who has lead his team to the 5th best record in the league?

Credibility is taking a huge hit.

Kind of funny that there are folks in this thread that are saying that those who aren't ranking Harden must not be watching him and are saying in the same breath that Big Al isn't playing defense. Pot, meet kettle.

Neither of these guys will crack above KD and LBJ so its irrelevant.

And where I won't knock Harden because he is special offensively, I will say, you remove Big Al from CHA, this team won 21 games last year. They were the 30th ranked defense, they are sixth best today (and still jumped four spots offensively). Al plays 35 mpg and he's ranked 31st defensively overall last I checked.

No chance Harden is in the conversation until he shows some effort on defense. Everyone in the NBA knows to attack Harden and many scrubs have career nights against him (Corey brewer 51 points!). This severely negates his offensive stats making him a good player like melo but not worthy of MVP consideration. Imagine Melo joining this team next season.

i came to clutchfans to post a thread about this. This is seriously a joke, did someone just forget about him? The fact that they don't even mention him is insane to me, and im not being a bias fan. don't they watch all the teams all season long?

Thats why Nash has an MVP trophy right? It was from his defense!

I think the Suns had a very bad record in those years when Nash sat a small handful of games and that definitely swayed some voters.

I do agree that Harden should be on the long-list. The short list is basically Lebron and Durant. We know one of them is going to get it.

Because Curry is such a defensive specialist right?

Slightly off topic, but I was surprised to see Lin getting a couple votes for 6MOTY.

It feels like the Rockets are flying under the radar in general. I just don't see a lot of discussion about them despite their record. Maybe once everyone realized that Dwight was happy and fitting in without causing drama, they decided the story of the Rockets' season was over and moved on to fixating on other teams.

I'm not saying he's in top 3, but I did genuinely feel Blake and Harden were a clearcut 3/4, and then a drop to the rest.

    This is pure bull ****!
Harden is a bona fide stud, should be in the discussion. I mean come on, what's the beef? what offense did harden commit in the eyes of espn?
Dude has been clutch all season bailing this team out with regularity,
Harden is behind Lebron and durant, this season in terms of wings and only getting better.

All I know is Curry is the most overrated player in the NBA. ESPN hypes this guy up more than anyone. They truly think he's some elite player. He's a all-star PG for sure but if you just listen to various ESPN shows and what not, never a bad thing is said about Curry.

Let's trade James Harden for Al Jefferson.

    /sarcasm

I have no problems with James not giving much effort on D during the regular season. We got a healthy Harden for the playoff run and HCA in the 1st round. And, this is just the first season of the Harden-Howard tandem.

The point is being made why he was snubbed, and that be a reason. That's the point I was making....
