The cognitive dissonance that some posters here have for Harden especially for their 'unfair media exposure' tripe they keep on shoving down this message board is hilarious. They honestly believe that the massive amoutns of negative media Harden recieves is because he's 'succesful'.

People hate successful players like Kobe or Curry because of the massive amounts of bandwagon fans they generate.

Trust me when I say this as someone who has not lived in the Houston metro area in a while... Harden does't have many bandwagon fans. Actuall, to be honest, I've never met ONE bandwagon Harden fan.

The media ****s on Harden because 1. His game is ugly 2. He plays laughable defense.

There is no conspiracy to put down Harden and the city of Houston. I'm sorry. People just don't like Harden's game and effort on defense. It's that simple.

15 per team. Meaning he would have to be passed over by 10 other guys.

Would be very, very surprised if he doesn't make it.

So here goes: For all the areas his numbers have suffered compared to last season, as extensively detailed by our ESPN Insider gang, this one jumped off the page: Harden averages 8.1 more PPG in wins (31.5) than he does in losses (23.4).

fair enough. save my post all you want, and come back laugh at me when i am proven wrong. i admit there's a chance, in theory, that i'll be wrong, no matter how minute that chance feels like for now.

and, in theory, you dont know for certain about the assessments you have made, like when he's retired how the sentiment will change, either.

if there's such a thing as "anti-fan", then yeah, i am an antifan of james harden. i dont like his style of play and his character as a #1 player on my team. i also dont believe he can lead the team to a title. is there anything wrong with that?

you'd understand if you are like me being a fan of the TEAM first.

back to the topic of this thread. we're talking about "all time great", sth. like the top x (fill in the # here) sg who has ever played the game here, right? that's different from being inducted as a hof, is it not?

so back to the topic,,, harden right now has nothing to do with "all time great". he's far from it. and i dont believe he'll ever be.

wake me up and talk to me when i'm proven wrong...

That's true. This board, apart from a few haters, used to rally behind Harden. He has never been endearing to the media. And most fans of other teams despise him because of the volume of foul calls he gets. (Be honest. If some star player on another team hit more FTs than FGs, you'd hate him too, fair or not.) We the Rockets fans defended him against all these outsider's criticism. Remember the MVP thing?

Now a lot of Rockets fans are turning into Harden critics. Deserved or not, it comes with the territory of being the franchise player. That's what McGrady got, and Francis before him.

not saying this will happen to them the say way other guys have had their careers fall but its a complete crime to rate the careers of players who are about to or in their prime before judging them against players who have long retired or past their prime.

For example Kemp at age 26 was in his 4th straight all-star season and just took the Sonics to the finals. If we took Kemp then we would have probably said he was going to be a lock to be an all-time top 10 PF if not higher. Instead he had a few more all-star seasons and then dropped so fast after his drug abuse that now he is ranked waaay lower because he didnt sustain it for a long enough period.

While guys like Love and Harden, Curry and Kawhi (who I bet are on the list but higher) are showing a lot of promise -- its way too early to rank them like this we dont know what may happen. Will they go on to keep winning at performing at a high level or will they end up coming back down to earth because of personal reasons or injuries?

Exactly. It's way too early to say what Harden and Curry will be in the all time perspective. To be an all time great, you'll have to perform at an elite level for at least 7 seasons straight.

    Remember Gilbert Arenas?

If you consider how many points he has given up he is just a tad above average....

Offense does not win you the big games and he wasn't consistent with his Offense either, way too many bad shooting nights.

He is probably Top 150 and Marc Gasol is probably too high as well

Harden with 30 plus points, 16 plus rebounds, 11 plus assists.

This is an incredible and all time great player.

It's not his fault he doesn't have any help
