Ennis sucked. Not sad to see him go. Morey had his worst off season by far this past summer and they're trying to erase all the mistakes by the trade deadline.
Whatever you want to say about Ennis he WAS the backup PF on this team at the moment. Especially with House in the G league. So, there is an OBVIOUS void right now at backup PF. Let's see what the Rockets do.
When you think about it, Ennis is essentially getting traded for a current freshman/sophomore in high school. That's lolzy.
They are not going to pay the repeater tax because the punishment is so severe. So that means that this year, or next they will need to be under the luxury tax. it makes more sense to do it this season than next when we have Bird rights to Shumpert and possibly the MLE to play with. I still have a suspicion (nothing I was told) that Eric Gordon may be moved for the right player.
Now that's what I come to see as a fan! I did like Ennis, although he was definitely a better fit coming off the bench, where you mostly just want guys to bring some energy. He just had a bad habit of gambling too much while he was on the court.
