If the Rockets had given up multiple 1st round picks to trade Anderson for Melo, we'd have been screwed both last year and this year. Seems to me we did dodge a bullet. Even if TheCat is just a Rockets mouthpiece, at least the Rockets are kind of smart organization to share opinions about.
This is how i feel. But i'm not all that excited about our offseason moves. Ennis has to be a really good player for me to think that him and Melo is an upgrade over Luc and Ariza.
Really like this signing. The guy fills that wing defender spot. Can get to the hoop off the dribble and knock down the 3 at a high enough clip to keep the defenders honest.
i want to be there with you, but i don't think Ennis and Melo > Ariza and Luc. I hope Ennis busts out. in fairness i haven't watched him much.
I'm not excited but i'm hoping this is like replacing parsons with ariza. of course ariza already had a ring and came off of a super hot shooting season in washington. we did need another player who can create his own offense against the warriors. i think melo can help us but we need one more long wing defender. I'm hoping for ryno to be traded for someone who can defend multiple front court positions like mbah. maybe for demare carroll?
Myself, along with clutchfans will let moreknee live another week. He has another week to work some kind of magic.
Videos from his Miami, Memphis time to his Detroit time you can see that he has gained a lot of weight. Hopefully he shows up for camp in shape and motivated. Otherwise I don’t see how he helps me. We need him as quick and athletic as he can be.
They don't necessarily have to be upgrades. They also aren't the only moves we will make. Regardless, Ennis is probably as good as LMM was prior to his last year with the Clips, and is probably about as good as Ariza when we went to LA. Long, athletic kid who can jump through the roof, run the floor, and finish at the rime. He was a plus defender for the Heat (in limited stints) and the Griz. He was also coming along as a shooter before the Pistons. If he can defend and hit his corner threes, and also give us can finish on the break or off the bounce when teams run him off the arc, he will be as good or better than LMM.
If he was legit , Memphis would have kept him for that cheap..... I mean Detroit....hope I'm wrong...
