So they get rid of Jackson. The bigger problem is Dolan is still the owner. You know the guy who hired Phil and Isiah!!!
They should just buy out Melo to save face at this point. What attractive free agent is going to want play for the Knicks after this fiasco? You torpedoed the value of your former franchise player, you fielded offers for your future franchise player, and you showed time and time again your incompetence by sticking with and extending Phil Jackons contract only to let him go.
If he can he should leap at it. A general manager being paid like the old max NBA salary. He's not going to top that. I guess I should be grateful that Dolan doesn't want Morey.
It would complete the circle if ujiri comes to New York to trade Melo for the second time in his career
This doesn't matter at all. Because in New York, what matters isn't who gets hired; it's about who is doing the hiring. I met James Dolan once. I've never met anyone like him. His aura filled the whole room and it wasn't a good thing. It was like being smothered by ego and narcissism and negativity. So long as he owns the team their culture will be toxic and they will fail. It doesn't matter who the GM is. It doesn't matter who the coach is. And it doesn't matter who the players are. Knicks fans should be wielding pitch forks and torches at Dolan's door.
This would be very ironic and a very good hire for the Knicks. I hope it doesn't happen. Please let it be someone like Dumars.
PJ has to be one of the most overrated coaches of all time. Having MJ/Shaq/Kobe really played everything out for him. His tenure as GM was an embarrassment and in this instance it reflects on his coaching ability given the magnitude of his role. Glad he's out as much as I like laughing at the knicks.
You wish it reflected on his coaching career because you don't like Phil, but it does not. His NBA legacy is severely tarnished because his Knicks tenure is what so many will remember. Very obvious. He stole from Dolan. What a con job.
