Jalen Suggs Gonzaga freshman pg the potential new number overall pick in 2021

Suggs isn't going to carry a team anywhere, but he seems like a guy that's going to orchestrate a team to always be at their best. Think Chris Paul or Jason Kidd, rather than Durant or Wade or players like that. He's probably not going to win you a championship on his own, but he'll put a high floor on your team and make everyone else look better.

 

I could definitely see that ceiling for Suggs, but that is also why he should not be the first or really second lottery player you select on your team. Because once he is on your team, they become too good to get a top lottery draft slot to get that No. 1 guy. If you think KPJ can be that No. 1 guy, then maybe you take Suggs. I'm just not sold on KPJ yet to take that chance.

My other worry with Suggs, is that generally that No. 2 guy is at least above-average defensively on a championship-level team. Suggs could definitely be savy and smart as a defender, but I have serious doubts he can do that deep into the playoffs against all-star level talent.
