According to a few scouts his stock has ascended quickly to the number 1 spot after only just 2 games. He has drawn serious comparisons to Jason Kidd. Suggs is a former high school qb, so im sure that explains his his elite physical tools, passing skills, and court vision

Here are his first two againist the 6th ranked kansas jayhawks and the auburn tigers. He looked like the best player on a court filled tons of nba prospects. I will be following him this season very closely

Game 3 was a bit of a clunker but game 4 was real nice for him. Good size at 6’4 for a PG.

It’s hard to see this kid not succeeding at the next level imo. Really good feel for the game.

Watched this kid last night, looks really smooth. He's tough, has all the skills, maybe a De'Aaron Fox or Jrue Holiday type player. But looks like a lock, almost zero bust potential.

Not sure. He's still playing in a weak conference with kids. To make your mark as a number one in the nba you need to have a superior handle and he will need to score against length. So I think untested, but I like his aggressive style.

4th to 14. Rockets should draft Jaden Springer.

Suggs looks good. But I don’t really see anything special. Nothing truly stands out that would justify a 6’4 point guard going #1. Or even top 5 for that matter. Especially not in a draft loaded with 6’7 athletic freaks that can pass, shoot, and dribble.

Maybe my opinion contains some bias towards shorter players considering I’ve been a fan of a team with a 6’6 center and a bunch of 6’5 wings. But look at the height of all the top 25 players in the league today (no order):

    LeBron James- 6’9
    Kevin Durant- 6’10
    James Harden- 6’5
    Anthony Davis- 6’10
    Steph Curry- 6’3
    Luka Doncic- 6’7
    Kawhi Leonard - 6’7
    Giannis- 6’11
    Jokic- 6’11
    Joel Embiid- 7’0
    Paul George- 6’8
    Jason Tatum- 6’8
    Jaylen Brown- 6’6
    Jimmy Butler- 6’7
    Devin Booker- 6’5
    Donovan Mitchell- 6’0
    Damian Lillard- 6’2
    Zion Williamson- 6’7
    Brandon Ingram- 6’8
    Bradley Beal- 6’5
    Bam Adebayo- 6’9
    Kyrie Irving- 6’2
    Zach Lavine- 6’6
    Karl-Anthony Towns 6’11
    Pascal Siakam 6’9

Just a whopping 4 out of the top 25 players are under 6’5.

Unless a point guard has a historically great shooting touch like Steph, or ungodly amount of athleticism like Rose back in his prime or Westbrook, it’s highly unlikely a 6’4 guard will become a star. Even the short guards who are stars in the NBA have their issues carrying a team as the #1 guy.

Trae should be on that list as should Chris Paul and Beal is closer to 6'3 than 6'5.

Suggs is the clear cut #1. Some of these other guys are flashy dunkers, but lack the leadership, vision, passing, defense, and will to win that Suggs has. Suggs has truly elite intangibles AND is a great floor general who makes other players better.

If he drops to the Rockets we shouldn't cry about getting him, but do any of us think he's the guy that can carry the load. Nope. Always draft height and length if the choice is not clear. And this year is a bit muddy. That is good news for the top 5 teams. Nobody will feel like we lost, but nobody is likely going to walk away thinking they got that guy. Top 5 are very low level all star quality, but some of the guys with length have a higher potential ceiling.

What you are describing is great if our goal is just to win dunk contests.

I want SKILLS -- shooting, handle, passing, defense -- and INTANGIBLES -- Leadership, will to win, making others better, performing in the clutch. This is where Suggs separates himself versus the competition... and it's a big reason why Gonzaga is playing for a natty.

Juzang was cookin Suggs all game. Dropped 29 on him but guess it doesn't mean much when you lose? Timme and Ayayi stood out to me this game.

This is true but the biggest plays were made by Suggs. Juzang should leave UCLA for the NBA too. His stock will NEVER be higher.

I think he is staying another year. I don't see Juzang in any mock drafts or scouting reports at all this year.
