This was shown clearly not to be an option the moment Morey refused to take on contracts beyond 2015 when he shopped for Asik. If you follow the money, 2015 FA is clearly when the Rockets are trying to make absolutely certain they can make some noise.

 

Ummm the only reason why Durant would have any interest in leaving OKC to come to houston would be to play with his CLOSE FRIEND James Harden.

If you want to dream about trading Harden for Durant and the world being perfect than just stop. You are exposing yourself and your bias.

Harden and Durant were one of the deadliest combos in the NBA when they were together because they played so well off of each other. When they lost Harden Durant grew as a play maker because he had to without a great facilitator to get him open shots. That is the whole point of even discussing Durant potentially coming to Houston.

What he couldn't say, but what is obvious....is that...this is happening sooner rather than later. Westbrook is going out with Love to LA soon and Durant will come home. OKC knows they have to go young now, breaking it up. It doesn't make any sense otherwise...with our window being now. The timing for all those involved says NOW, not in 2 years.

 

According to shamsports, the Thunder have Westbrook for three more years, and Durant for two more years.
