We just took the BPA and possibly best defensive talent in 10 years.

Yet people are trashing the pick.... Smh.

Yeah, remember, we have PE coach for a GM. We should've drafted a heisman trophy winner, because we all know those guys are a sure thing.

Now all we need is Derek Carr and this draft will be epic!

...It's 2006 all over again as in we made the obviously correct pick? VY and RB were garbage. Utter garbage. Mario was a top defensive player for us.

Yes because that pick led us to a string of multiple playoff wins and SB appearances...

    Wait....

If there wasn't a deal to be made, then he was the right pick. He's gonna be a beast alongside JJ.

So are you saying that a pick is only successful if it leads you to multiple playoff wins and SB appearances?

Some people think that players "just win" because they have a weak grasp of what goes into a team winning. So to people like that, they judge individual success by team success....it's weird, but hey, someone has to vote for Derek Fisher to get into the HOF right?

Clearly if we had drafted Reggie Bush, David Carr would've turned into Drew Brees.

    Flawless logic.

Exactly. There IS no other acceptable way to judge drafting success. Maybe its just me, but I don't believe in "moral" victories. Only real ones.

90% of Texans fans are sane... and the other ten percent are Aggies.

Ok, and you do realize that one player (one pick) cannot carry a team of 52, right?

If Mario wasnt the correct pick in 2006...then are you saying we should have selected Joseph Addai that season instead at #1? Bc Joseph won a Superbowl, so he would have been the better choice.

Clearly. Addai had a lot more "just winz" than Mario.

While I'm a little disappointed that we didn't end up with a franchise QB like I had hoped back when were sucking during the season, in terms of non-QBs you don't really get any better than Clowney as a prospect.

So I guess I'm content. But given that this is supposedly a deep draft, the Texans better hit on a lot of their picks from here on. We desperately need talent across the board.

Clearly the right pick but the failure to move up one spot for Bridgewater leaves me so salty. It just sucks that the worst team in the league doesn't have an answer to QB following the first day of the draft.

Lets review the "success" of recent Texans draft picks shall we?

2013 Deandre Hopkins Average receiver so far nothing more.

2012 Umm....nope. Not even a wiff of success. Not ONE.

    2011 J. J. Watt. The ONLY impactful pick between 2010-2013 (4) years.

    2010 Kareem Jackson. Oh boy.

That's a 25% rate of success on their FIRST draft pick in the last 4 years. UGH....
