The first season of 24 was the most intense television experience I've ever had. Don't think anything will ever top it.

I watched the first season one right after the other. Took me two weeks to get caught up to season 5.

A few months ago I started watching 24 for the first time made it through season 1 and had to stop a few episodes through season 2.

KIM BAUER is so stupid, I couldn't watch anymore. Should I keep watching? Do they tone down her stupidity?

I don't remember, but you shouldn't let her dumb character ruin the rest of the show... especially through the David Palmer seasons of 24. Those were the best seasons.

No, they don't tone down her stupidity. But trust me, the rest of the show is well worth it, until the last season or two.

Same thing for me. I watched 1-5 in a month to get caught up to season 6.

Who knows? In the past year, it was delayed, permanently scrapped, and then back in again. I would assume this miniseries is a more plausible occurrence than the movie.

Good for the fans, but it seems Fox is conceding that Idol and the other reality stuff can't last forever; and they both can't develop new shows and failed at replacing and/or prudently managing their existing hits. Even as bad as NBC is now or CBS was in the '90s, I don't think they or their advertisers would ever risk bringing stuff back after years off the air, rather than just dump more money into pilots.

I don't know... I thought the last half of the last season was some of the best 24 ever... when JB just went 100% rogue. It was really riveting television (IMO)

If you picked up on this, I doubt you will enjoy 24. I felt the same way, and the writing doesn't get much better. 24 suffers from 'networkitis' as I like to call it- the execs in charge wanted to make it a show that would appeal to as many demographics as possible. So while it's a dude show in theory, they feel that they have to throw the ladies who are watching a bone with insipid, hackneyed side-plots that are aimed at women. Now don't get me wrong, there are great shows with great plots aimed at women, but 24 misses the mark.

So while 24 is fun, it never reaches it's full potential as a man show, something that I prefer. It's a flipping show about spies and bad guys. I don't care about interpersonal relationships. I want to see razor sharp smart plots, ass kicking and explosions. If there's an organic romance going on the side, go with it. But they shoehorned Kim and Chloe into roles that they just didn't fit into. If they wanted a kickass woman in the show, they should have just brought one in.

Ever since 24 I keep watching as new shows come up in hopes that I find a new one that has that same feeling as 24. You know that feeling at the end of an episode when you realize there is whole week until the next episode.

So far the only ones, seem to be the ones that get canceled within a year or two, like Jehrico and that show where everything froze for a certain amount of time (drawing a blank on the name). I am kind of looking forward to Falling Skies starting again, and that is not even typically the type of show I like.

Seems like reality crap is all that gets the ratings and that's why there is so much of it on tv. That and the NCIS, etc that they have a different one for each city.

Might as well just bring Jack back!!
