Classy move. The Texans really do take care of their players. But unlike the NBA, treating players well doesn't affect how attractive you are to free agents. In the NFL free agents just go where they can get paid or win (mostly get paid).

We could have forced Watt to play for a lot less then franchise him up to 2 times I believe.

Quit watching that monstrosity years ago

 

Glad they got this out the way so the man can just play football and not have to worry about this for the next few years. I know people are going to say they could have waited out his contract and then franchise him and all that. But wouldn't we have to pay him even more, then? Seems like it would be in their best interest to get him on a better deal for the franchise, now.

 

Clowney is happy with this too. Can we afford 2 100mill players?

watt great news! we got him at a discount too, as contracts are always going to go up.

I would have waited a couples of days after the fappening to release the news though, so it could get the proper attention it deserves.

 

If they're counting "pass defenses", they should count QB hurries.
