I think a guy likes James Worthy, who was really efficient but benefitted so much from having Magic isnt really a top50 player.
Multiple people from that list. But this list doesn't include the best players of the last 15 years (other than Shaq); it needs to be remade for us to use it in a discussion like this.
I don't know if he's top 50, my first thought is yes, but I'd have to go and make a list and I don't want to do that.
Wow. I disagree but ok. So you replace worthy with Shaq now who's next off the list to get Iverson on because he's not in yet.
I agree but that just makes it harder for Iverson not easier. The list becomes more and more elite when guys like LeBron, Shaq, Duncan and Kobe are added to guys like Moses, Magic, Bird and Wilt.
Wasn't his 76ers team the only one that managed to win a game against the Lakers in that particular postseason?
Shaq is already on the list..but other guys could be like Willis Reed who benefitted from being on the knicks...Dolph Schayes, Dave Cowens, Sam Jones, Bill Sharman, Billy Cunningham, Hal Greer could all be replaced by the likes of Kobe, Lebron, KG, Duncan, AI, JKidd, Payton
Of course, that's my point, I'd take multiple of those names out for Iverson. But then there'd also be Dirks and LeBrons competing for those open spots, so it's just a big exercise.
I agree with DonatasFanBoy that Iverson is probably in the top 50. There are more than 50 players I'd take over him if I were putting together a team, but in terms of legacy, which is normally what these lists go by, yeah I'd put him in there. He accomplished some big things in his career.
Put Iverson on the Lakers with Shaq and put Kobe on that Philly team and see how truly great he would've been. Kobe is one of the greatest chuckers of all time, yet he's not criticized for it. Such hypocrisy. Give AI teams like Kobe had and he's looked at in a whole other light.

Wow! You want to replace those guys!? Do you even know what role Sam Jones played in what continues to be the all time basketball dynasty? Good Grief! To trivialize those legends because you didn't watch those guys play? Talk about basketball ignorance.
Points-Per-Shot Kobe 1.30 Iverson 1.22 Turnover % Kobe 11% Iverson 18% I dislike Kobe and all, but even Kobe doesn't deserve to be compared to the likes of AI.
Actually I have seen those guys play and also looked up their contributions. And while they did indeed make great contributions to the game they are not top 50 players. Sam Jones was a great player, a great contributing piece on those Boston teams, I just dont think he was a better player then any of the guys I listed. How many guys from those Boston teams deserve to still be top 50?? And honestly, I dont think you can back up any of your opinions with any kind of data. To call me ignorant is a nice cop out for someone who cant bring any real info to discuss. It feels good to teach arrogant, holier than thou posters a thing or 2.
