There's a huge difference between going back to your hometown team when they have a budding star and cap space and a draft pick and hopping aboard a 73 win team with a mvp and two finals appearances in a row.

James helped develop the Cavs into a winner.

Durant didn't do anything like that. His mere presence is overkill to put golden state over the top.

Yea, but he's still outplaying the alleged best player ever. Yes Lebron had a triple double, but KD OWNED him when it counted most. I don't care how good each team is. If Lebron's the so called GOAT, he should be closing out games not passing up shots and depending on Kyrie to bail him out (like he did last year). Lebron is the best player ever through 3 quarters of every playoff game lol. He's not anywhere close to better than MJ

He passed the ball to open korver for a 3. Korver is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. Maybe he isn't goat, but he is pretty good. I mean he is averaging a 30 triple double for the series on very good efficiency and you are b****ing about it.

Kyle Kover shouldn't be taking shots unless Lebron's being triple or double teamed. Lebron should've taken that shot, the same way KD took those pull up 3's in Lebron's face

Lebron was scared at a critical moment. It happened before, northing is new here.

I watched the replay. LeBron's only move that would have resulted in a decent shot was a pull-up jumper. He also had the option of a reckless attack of the basket and hope for the foul or and1. He choose to drive and kick to his left. Green, who had five fouls, was on his hip and Durant was waiting for him at the rim. Had he driven right he would have had Thompson to help on him. Given what he choose to do, his decision to kick out to Korver is somewhat defensible.

All that said, it needed to be his shot because a bad shot from him is better than a good shot from Korver. He could have deferred to Kyrie, too. He would have taken a bad shot rather than give anyone else a good shot.

This is common with LeBron. It's easy to defend because he makes what could be described as the correct basketball play, but it always comes off as an unwillingness to miss the important shots.

A corner 3 from korver has a higher percentage than a contested lebron jumper.

In a vacuum, yes. But considering the circumstance, I don't think so. A two or some free throws could have put an incredible amount of pressure on the Warriors. Korver wasn't hot and the shot was well contested. LeBron needed to take that shot, draw a foul, or put the game in Kyrie's hands.

Lebron was off the court for what 2 minutes and his team was outscored by 9 points. He has no chance to rest.

KD and Steph can both pick their spots and rest.

Especially against the Warriors motion offense and fast breaks, you're constantly moving. Maybe 2007-2009 Lebron could handle 48 minutes of up and down basketball. But after 50,000 minutes you can clearly see him gassed by the 4th quarter.

Lol. Lebron could've easily drove left did a quick step back & got a nice midrange shot, or pump faked. got his defender in the air, and drew a foul. Looking at the replay, he wasn't even looking to shoot. He was trying to create a shot in the final minutes. Imo he didn't want to shoot and miss, or get fouled & miss the ft's, because he knows that's going to be the storyline if they lost. Bottom line, he's not anywhere near MJ. The comparison died last night. Great player. Keep Lebron out of any top 5 convo

FYI, ALL of KD's clutch 3's could've been label "bad shots" but he took them anyway because he WANTED to shoot them. Clearly one superstar cares about public opinion and the other doesn't

When anyone is top 3 all time conversation and still playing, there will be a lot of GOAT conversation in the media and among fans. Some still think Magic or Bird are the GOATS others think its Russell or Wilt or Oscar. Some people actually think it's Kobe. In the end, the point is that Hakeem is the GOAT and i think we can all agree on that.

I'm not sure if you read my entire post because it mostly agrees with your take of LeBron not wanting to take important shots. I even said a bad shot from him - or Kyrie - is a better shot than a good shot from anyone else.

Right. But you gave him a cop out by calling his pass to Kover "defensible". It's only defensible if your dealing with any other player. But this is the guy they call the "King", the guy they say is better than Michael Jordan, passing the last second shot (yet again) for someone else to take. Any of the truly GOAT players take that shot. This is a similar play where a guy sagged off but Magic took it upon himself

What the F are you guys talking about? Lebron can't be the GOAT because Hakeem Olajuwon is the GOAT.
