So my iPod is running out of storage room for lose-less mp4 audio files. There is an option where it converts on the fly to 128 kpbs. Is there a way to make that better qualities like 320 or higher?

You can backup iTunes to external storage and then restore it to your new computer. I have done this to DVD and it works just fine.

How about not using DVDs. And our library is so f'd with duplicates is there a way to clean that up other than manually. iTunes tools suck

I think any external storage may do, but I only have personal experience using DVDs to back up to and restore from. I have heard/read good things about Tune Ranger but have no practical experience with it.

    EDIT:

What I did to clean up my library was to only transfer purchases from one computer to the next and then to reload my personal CDs as desired.

in itunes, i believe so. In preferences, under general, there is an 'import settings' option where you can change it.

Looks like it can only be to CD/DVD. Go to File->Library->Back up to Disc

I would only backup the purchased stufff and then reload your imported CDs as deisred. No sense copying those to disc simply to read them back in from disc.

There are other methods of accomplishing this. Simply google transfer itunes library to new computer.

What, the force can't help you with that? Man, are you green. :p

No, but seriously, there's a "backup my library" option from iTunes... look for it, yo.

You can convert your files to whatever (depending on any potential drm) but the option to sync them on the fly at a lower rate is limited to 128, so far as I know.
