You only have to upload songs that iTunes doesn't have, and pirates get to launder their music for $25 a year. Plus Apple has deals with the record companies, and Google doesn't. Google has also said they will eventually charge for Google Music.
Google isn't going to charge for Google Music the service. They are going to be opening up their own Music store. It will be announced next week most likely.
Unless they have clarified this later, when they announced it, they said "At least while it's in beta, the service is free." (http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/11/google-music-beta-walkthrough-what-it-is-and-how-it-works-vide/)
Yep iTunes Match is more of a "you can legalize all your pirated music for $25 a year" while Google Music is just a place to put your pirated music that essentially is still pirated for free on the cloud.
T-Mob is the last iPhone-missing carrier, and also a major android handset supporter. G-Music will be the native android music store (not that amazon doesn't play nice w/ Android.) actually makes a lot of sense.
Meh, I see no use for this. With Subsonic, I can stream my entire audio and video library to my phone or any computer for a one-time donation of $10. My files are automatically transcoded and downsampled for ideal format and quality. There are apps for both Android and iPhone. Plus, I don't have to use iTunes.
I will try this with my iPhone 4S. I have about 32 Gb of cumbias, merengue, corrido, rancheras, tejano, cumbias, mariachi, and more, that I don't think many peeps have. That's what she SAMPLED.
