So the Texans are comfortable going into the season with Savage but not enough comfort to replace Osweilers sorry ass way earlier in the season with him? This jacked up franchise has me fuming over all the behind the scenes bullshit that goes on. The reason Brock played most of the season was because of the investment in him and not who was best for the team. This could have been why O'Brien was leaked to have been leaving after the season was over because of McNair and Smith and their BS.

Romo is set to be released TOMORROW!!!
Here's hoping he signs with Denver.

After, numerous retreads and injury prone Qbs, drafting a Qb in the draft and taking my chances.

Over the past month, I've heard some of the most MORONIC proposals ever, from people who question Rock Smith's judgment as a GM. The Mid-Day crew on Sports 610 stated they would give up a #1 or a #2 draft pick for Romo!

I see zero mention of a Romo looming release online. I think it's bogus

That's a good reason to want a 38 yr old QB with his injury history??? Really??? All I can say is: "Be very careful what you ask for - because you might just get it" (injury history and all). Try not to look so shocked when he winds up hurt...again...

The Texans have nothing to lose. Any QB they'd draft in this BS class certainly wouldn't be ready to play this season and possibly wouldn't be ready to be a starter ever. The rest of the QB FA's are trash and the only thing you have on the team is Tom Savage who still hasn't ever thrown a TD pass that counted despite 2 starts and nearly 100 total pass attempts.

When that is the alternative, an old broken down QB with some upside is absolutely the best thing you can hope for.

either will Savage or rookie QB.
Taking a chance on Romo is our best bet. If he stays healthy, possible championship. If not, we're back to square 1 anyway.

I got a feeling we are going to be back to square one anyway.

    He's 36; turns 37 next month.

I'll repeat what I said yesterday: 1) he's healthy; 2) other than his collarbone (which has had ample time to rest and heal), his injury history is sort of irrelevant because none of it is recurring.

What intrigues me about Romo - beyond his being a great QB: he's thrown 4,335 NFL passes... Manning hit 4,333 attempts at the end of his age-29 season. He's almost 37; you can't fight the ravages of time. But in terms of mileage... his tread isn't as bare as it would be for MOST 37-year old QBs. Drew Brees was 37 last year and has twice as many passing attempts.

And last year, he missed the final 8 games not because he was hurt but because he was inactive; he was cleared to play in early November and was essentially gifted 8 weeks of rest, plus the entire offseason. I'd wager this is the healthiest Romo has been in a loooooong time.

    Ian Rapoport:

Where do you think Tony Romo ends up?

Either the quarterback of the Texans or in the TV booth.

So Jerry is more concern about media coverage than winning games. Classic Jerry
