I agree but bro this wasn't like that last year. I really am struggling with the thought that having 2 extra solid players in Ariza and Luc was the exact difference. CP3 stats from last year to this year are not drastically different but our record is, he used to take many games off probably not as bad as tonight but still. I blame our team's poor shooting and regression of Gerald Green, PJ Tucker a scrub in Ennis and a horrific bench as the difference.
No it’s not It’s time for people to adjust expectations. No need to keep thinking the Rockets are a good team. They’re not. They’re a .500 team. They’ll be a low seed and an early exit.
how much can we pay him to come out of retirement. Although RA would probably try to do some dumb **** like trying to convince Budinger to come out of retirement.
Nop. Coach is not the problem. He can’t make guys play hard or shoot the ball better. He can try and try to inspired them but the players seem to just ignore it and play like shT on any given night. If we change coaches it will only make things worse. Is not like the system doesn’t work. We seen how well it does.
I don't think there is a better coach for this team available but what i want to see is our coach start coaching with more movement like in his Phoenix years. We can't win with 48 min of iso in the playoffs and our players need some direction in crunsh time too.
Ryan Anderson use to kill this team. He shot the long three with such consistency Taj Gibson was relegated to nothing. Now with PJ its tough because he is playing defense all the time and not having his legs underneath him he cant hit the three
Nene has regressed, Ariza and Luc our two best wing defenders are gone, we have had injury/suspension issues, we have had chemistry issues with the Melo/JeffB situations and Most importantly, Gordon. The reason we bounced back in 15-16 despite losing Howard was Gordon, the reason we had the best NBA regular season in Rockets history last year was due to us adding Paul with Harden and Gordon. This year, Gordon has fallen off a giant cliff, and Paul has fallen off a small hill so far. Also, opposing teams scouting, the whole switch Clint out to the perimeter specifically aimed to net offensive rebounds has been a big problem this year. We went from top 5 in DRB% to bottom of the league.
Not D'Antoni's fault that (washed-up) Chris Paul and Harden want to hog the ball for 18 seconds and then make a decision.
If the team hasn't Paul, I think Harden can bring it to playoff, but Paul & Harden & Capera & Gorden & Tucker, U say the team can only win 50%?
I gotta disagree . CP3 has been drastically worse this year . His ppg might be close , but his fg% is down across the board . He's averaging 1 whole extra turnover a game . Doesn't sound too bad , but if he keeps it up it will be his career high in Turnovers per game . His 2 point Fg percentage in particular has been off . He shot 66 % from 0-3 feet last year and so far this season is only making 55% Those sweet midrange jumpers that always kept the scoreboard moving for us last year ?? Last year he shot 16-3 point range at a 56% clip . This year it's at 50 . If 6% difference doesn't seem like a lot , think about it in terms relative to the actual percentage . 50/56 is .89 ... so on that particular shot he's 10% worse . I would say that's a pretty significant difference . Btw he's shooting almost 20% worse at the rim this year . Hopefully that comes back . And as for your other points , I shouldn't even dignify them , but PJ tucker a scrub ? Really ?
The problem is Eric Gordon. The team depends on him to show up every night and he's our most inconsistent player. It's time for him to go
The Rockets are just too small, and got worn down by the length of the Timberwolves and big teams like the Mavs, Pelicans, Washington, and the Pistons. It's on Morey, not the coach. Kevin McHale used always say that he needed some players that he could look across at and not down at. Morey loves small loves small ball. It's always been a big man's game, and always will be. Morey has to acquire a big (M. Morris) that can play very soon, or the season will be over soon. It's that simple!
Depth. Which is why waiving a guy after 10 games baffles me. Harden shouldn't need to play perfect for us to win every night. This is why I think the Rockets made a huge mistake
That's why I think Moreyball needs to be significantly reduced. MDA has already shown success with different offenses. Jacking up 3's without having any 3pt specialists has got old
Look at the clippers using around 10 to 12 players. Seriously what is the point of 7 man rotation in the regular season. We have a much better team than the clippers, yet look how well they're doing. Our starters' flaws become less obvious when you distribute the minutes to more players
Its not the roster. D'Antoni wants to fit a bunch of puzzle pieces into his ancient and evolved (by the rest of the league) system that don't fit. This coach has never made adjustments and won't now. He believes his way works, and justifies that by comparing his style to the Warriors, and they don't play the same. He has never held himself accountable. He always places blame on everyone else. His system, rotations, lack of of adjustments, etc. are never a problem. These aren't the characteristics of a champion. Which is why he hasn't and most likely won't ever win a championship. Speaking of the Warriors, when they lost to the Pistons, Kerr said that was one of his worst coaching performances. I'd feel much better about D'Antoni if i ever heard that come out of his mouth. How is "depth an issue" when you stick with a 7 man rotation, with Gordon as the 6th man? The problem is, turning everyone into only 3 point shooters. They didn't make it to the NBA just practicing 3's. There's more to their game. When shots don't fall "keep shooting 3's." Shots still aren't falling? "Shoot more threes." Nevermind the easy 2 point buckets that will help get the players going. This is horrible COACHING. Anyone who has ever really played, and/or really coached can see the pride and flaws in his coaching.
