Stockton would have been good even without all the cheap shots and dirty plays. He should be in the hall of fame even though he's a discredit to the game.

This should open up a playoff spot in the west.

No way Karl Stays with Stockton gone. The Rockets better take advantage of this.

Please take that pic down ASAP!

Seriously, I hate him too but I'm betting I'd feel a lot different were he on my team. Give the guy his props. One of the best PG's in the history of the game. That said, I still hate him.

I will always think of him as an extention of one of Karla's armpits.

I will always despise how he took brilliance and turned it into everything a player shouldn't strive to be if he desires class.

I will always despise how he perverted his talent in a vain attempt to win a ring.

I will always despise his sanctimonious pasty face.

I will alway hate his guts for using incredible ability in his sick and twisted fashion.

I will forever hate what he repeatedly did to the Rockets with all his unnecessary crap.

He was one of the worst examples of how a player should carry himself on the court. And he will deservedly carry his steaming pile of **** into the Hall of Fame.

I wish he had played for us. The bast*rd.

Why do I get the feeling that everyone here wouldn't have so much bad things to say about the man had that desperation 3 pointer not gone in. Come on guys, lighten up, show some class.

Class has nothing to do with it when Flopton's involved. Grow a pair.

I wish Francis played like Stockton.

I wish Stockton was on the Rockets for all these years.

He plays the game the right way, sometimes a bit dirty, but mostly just hard.

    A warrior to the end.

Stockton inspired one of my fondest basketball memories. He was playing the Rox and flopped and a foul was called on Steve. The next play, Steve does the most horrible flop I have ever seen. Stockton comes within about 3 feet of him and he goes down like he was hit by a sniper. I couldn't stop laughing. He also provided one of my worst basketball memories, when he hit the three (pictured above) off the Malone bearhug and robbed Sir Charles of his chance for a ring. So much talent, but wasted on such a dirty cheater.

exactly, he and karla could've been players i liked. they worked hard and made the most of their abilities and brought it every night. but they had to be cheaters, floppers, dirty players, and people who got favorable ref treatment. that's why i hate them and why i always will. i hated them long before that 3 pt shot, and i will hate them long after they retire. that's just the way it is.

I'm glad he's gone. I hated him, and still hate him. Yes, he was good. But I don't care.

BTW, with him and likely Malone gone, another WC playoff spot will likely open up. And if we don't make it next year, I may never watch basketball again.

like I said in the NBA Dish version of this thread,

I think it would be sooo coool if Clutch would lock this thread in an unfair, foul call, cc.net Admin flopping kinda way...

and if he could somehow turn the clock back 12 seconds on the thread start time...that would be an extra bonus.

    HP,

That is great, and squeezing in a Utah clock reference....classic.

    Well played.
