All the Israel/Palestine threads are a one man Deji show. Thanks for providing interesting information in the midst of a lot of noise. If I could rep, I would.
Edit: Not to imply that you were wrong, just that Hamas actually acted with even more restraint than anyone wants to give them credit for. And there's still zero proof of their involvement in the kidnappings. If Bibi really has proof he needs to share it as well as explain why he issued the gag order. That's not entirely accurate, but it's a much better topic of conversation than the Balfour Agreement or Islam. The time line is full of details and is pretty clear: Jun 12th: 3 Israeli kids are kidnapped. One managed to make an emergency call and the sounds of automatic gunfire and screaming, followed by silence are allegedly in the recording. June 13th: Palestinian security find the burnt out wreck of the car, full of blood stains and bullet holes they believe was involved in the kidnapping, and the Israeli government enforces a gag order on this and the phone call. June 14th: More than 2500 soldiers raid the West Bank to "find" the boys and never let the public know that they are about 99.9% certain they were dead already. Bibi announces he "knew for a fact""Hamas did it (despite the Army and Shin Bet saying in press conferences that they don't know). PA officials demand proof -- none was or has yet to be provided. It's still not clear to me who leaked the story about the 911 call or when, but it was long, long after the damage that followed by frantic soldiers intent on a rescue played to manipulate Israeli anxiety... What happened next was political theater: homes, universities, mosques, charities, businesses and refugee camps raided, sometimes with missiles used to open doors, computers confiscated, over 500 suspects arrested and put into indefinite detention, hundred of injuries, and 10 deaths. And exaggerated or not, millions of dollars of damages and reported confiscation (and some allege theft) of personal property by security forces including the destruction of a dairy. All of this, of course, besides creating a **** storm of violent riots, is a violation of Israel's existing treaty with the PA, that it has to cooperate on things like this in areas that are under PA control with PA security. Which, up until this point, they had been doing. When the bodies of the boys were finally found, they destroyed all the homes on the property, and the ambulance hauling the bodies away was attacked, though it's not clear if it was in retaliation for the demolition, or because the bodies were found. It's not until the evening of July 2nd that 9 rockets are fired from Gaza...and not from Hamas. These are homemade jobs that go over the fence in Sderot and while they don't kill anyone, heavily damage three homes. July 3rd, the Israeli airforce responds, hitting 15 targets in Gaza, flattening two building and injuring 15 Gazans. THEN, Hamas began firing rockets, and by July 7th, Operation Protective Edge (which is actually more like Operation Cliff's Edge in Hebrew) kicks into full gear and the air force goes full on into bombing mode...all while the board is on it's fifth thread debating more about who deserves it more than the facts that led up to this.
Deji, what do you think of NBC News' decision to remove Ayman Mohyeldin from Gaza despite Mohyeldin filing the best reports on events there this past week? I just became aware of their follow up decision to redeploy him after public protest via social media. Sounds like a big mistake.

http://www.jewishpress.com/special-features/israel-at-war-operation-protective-edge/feiglin-re-conquer-gaza-now/2014/07/15/ Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Moshe Feiglin, reveals how far right the Israeli political system has drifted, which is a reflection of the Zionist state's growing settler population. What a loon.
First off, wrong reporter. Ayman Mohyeldin does not equal Diana Magnay. Secondly, here is the context of that tweet--- but of course in the distorted media cycle, somehow getting threatened by people cheering death and insulting that group becomes this greatly clipped quote of calling Isrealis scum. With this degree of misinformation, one really wonders about the information bring conveyed about this issue, and whether people are properly equipped to have a balanced view of it all.
They should also give their audience a handle of the situation---clearly that has not happened in this case. I would suggest you dig deeper before you make general assertions---and consider the fact that you yourself do not have an objective view of the situation.
