This has got to be the most optimistic review of a benchwarmer I've ever read...

A four year college player who has a year of D-league experience is tearing it up against Summer League competition... versus a guy who has dropped multiple 30+ games against actual NBA teams.

Unstoppable offensively? Break down any defender? Everything we saw will be duplicated in the NBA? Come on.

I can see him playing well enough to duplicate Lin's production, but that's the CEILING of how well he's gonna do this year. And that doesn't make him a superior player than Lin, only that his skill set (deep range) might get him more playing time on a team that got rid of all their perimeter playmakers.

He's gonna get shredded on defense. He's gonna be turning it over again and again. We saw all of that in his limited time on the court.

He could very well be a great value at his contract, but let's not get ahead of ourselves and say he's better than an ESTABLISHED NBA player.

This kid is a player. Morey did a great job bringing in some exciting young guard prospects. Johnson, Daniels and Cannan will be fun to watch this year.

Isaiah Canaan, Houston Rockets | Grade: B
The Rockets love their undersized, gunner point guards, and Canaan fits perfectly into that category. He always has had the ability and confidence to dribble down the court and pull up from anywhere -- and that’s still completely true, as Canaan showed multiple times against the Hornets. He’s still the guy who hit seven straight 3-pointers against Austin Peay. Sunday, though, he commanded the floor impressively, even while totaling just one assist. Canaan used to look to pull up when dribbling around screens. Against Charlotte, he split pick-and-rolls and made the defense move effectively.

Canaan is a slightly worse shooter Aaron Brooks in a Kyle Lowry body

I would not say totally disappointing offseason but a boring one in my opinion.

I liked what I see from both Dmo and Canaan, and previously from Nick the quick Johnson.

Nothing spectacular though like that Summer League when Jeremy Lamb and TJones dominated.

Canaan will be fine, he seems to be a good system player in our "free flowing system" which people call "no system".

Canaan will be half a notch below MIP Brooks and Lowry but can draw comparisons to them soon when he works hard.
