Ditto. May be some of you guys should read what T-Mac says after every game in which Yao dominates...he gushes over him that sometimes I wonder if McGrady is a YOF...that b*stard! ;)

This is the whole point of this thread -- don't you feel that Yao is finally getting 'it' and moving to the next level?

Until Yao hits that turn-around j that he should have hit last night witht about 2:00 left in the game, he can not be considered the man. Until then, this is Tracy's team, he has proved that he can hit the shot when it counts. Yao has really improved this season, and I'm very happy with his progress, but this is Tracy's team and he is the guy that will lead us...next season of course, that is with JJ Redick to hit to open 3.

Of cos we all hope yao finally is getting 'it'. But personally i think one month (february) of dominance doesnt prove much, he still has 2 months to prove it.

Tomorrow will be a real test. How the team responses to 2 loss and how yao will do against a very good center in camby!

Hope the rockets will WIN it and go on to 10 games winning streak ;)

Both T-Mac and yao are max contract players. if only one of them dominates, then we'll never make to the finals, even playoff (like this season). boy we need both to dominate!!!

I agree. Yao needs to have the feeling of nailing some clutch shots down the stretch and of course nailing some game winners with the clock running out. When (or if) JVG starts calling Yao's number when the game is on the line will be a true turning point for the big guy. Yao needs to feel the high after draining a turn-around to win the game and then be mobbed by his teammates as the crowd roars.

Has that ever happened since he's been a Rocket?

This is just not true....how many superstars are on the Spurs? Yep, one !

That team is built around Duncan....

This team is a mess, is it Tmac's team? Yao's team? Is it inside out, outside in?

    What?

No identity...and that is one of the biggest problems they have.

I truly think that will come. He is just now gaining real confidence in the NBA. You can't have a killer instinct without it. One step at a time...

I believe so, although Yao taking and making clutch shots occurred mostly in the Francis era when there was not a predominant opinion about team's identity. In Francis' last year as a Rocket, Yao's sporadic brilliant performances earned him some rights to take clutch shots, yet after TMac came to Houston, it has been until recently almost undisputedly TMac's team.

Another huge game for Yao [32 points and 13 rebounds] ~ another tough injury for Tracy.

Clearly the fuse has been lit in Yao -- now the question is -- will his endurance allow him to play at this high of a level for the rest of the season?

The desire to pair this year's Yao with last year's T-Mac is painfully similar to the one of having both the Andy Pettite of 2005 with the Carlos Beltran of 2004 through last season's run to the World Series.

You are the man to get to the point.

We just want to see they both and whole rockets play better and better like last second season. I miss that time.

I think he is, and has gained the experience, stamina, and health (a hurt toe! who'd have thunk it??), finally, to take the step up that we are witnessing. I just love seeing it! And he's beginning to get back to the passing game we admired so much when he first arrived.

Scoring, rebounding, increasing numbers of blocks (wish they kept a stat for altered shots!), and more passing out of the post, with this agressiveness we're seeing... hell, is there any other center in the league, today, who's better? If Shaq has a good night, sure, Shaq's still better, but Shaq is on the decline after a great career, and those good nights, which he used to have night in and night out, are coming with less frequency.

Yao is coming into his own, and man, is it beautiful to watch.
