Are you actually saying the United States (who invented the game) is not friendly to young players??????????????? DMo left his National Team because they were not committed to him, to play in the Summer League for us????????????

FACT IS: our National Team plays more young players than any other National Team in the World. That is a FACT! It always has been. No other National Team will play younger players than the US...way back to when we only played college players.

Go ahead and reinvent our sports history...by trying to claim I don't know anything about Europe. This is my sport. I know European bball too. Don't assume I don't.

The NCAA is a development league...make no mistake. Just because Europe doesn't believe in a college education or because the NCAA has too much money involved to allow NBA and NFL team to have real development teams...does not mean the United States does not have "professional" apprentice leagues for their sports.

what the hell is up with Europeans dismissing the NCAA because "they aren't professional leagues." As if the NFL needs a minor league more than Alabama.

    y'all just don't get it.

No. I am saying that the Euroleague is not renowned for not playing young players as you claimed. The truth is the opposite. It plays young players more and even younger players than the NBA does.

Euroleague is actually known for the opposite. It is known as strongly promoting young players.

You are bringing up the Lithuanian senior men's national team, which has absolutely nothing to do with the Euroleague.

You Europeans actually believe people on this site do not watch Europe bball or have friends in Europe who feed us information...do you?

So, you are saying Europe doesn't have an age limit like the NBA....hmmm. I never thought of that.

Talk all you want in mass across all Europe teams...but if you do, then I will get to include the NCAA, then.

Fact is: the NCAA champion in the United States is the equivalent of many of the lower level league teams in Europe (Kentucky last year...lols)...and certainly if we consolidated all those NCAA teams into a big six or something...as a real B-league relagated to the NBA....then all bets are off.

But we don't do that. We have a college education system...that teaches the best basketball in the world. European top 16 teams do not play younger players than the NBA playoff teams. At best, it is a wash...especially when you consider our rules do not allow the NCAA champions to play your B leagues...then we would smoke your youth movement.

European countries have several levels of basketball. You are confusing pro level with youth level. NCAA is not equivalent to B level leagues in most European basketball countries.

Example, the second divisions in Italy, Spain, and Greece are easily a higher level than the D-League. Case in point, the D-League all star team played 3 games against 3 different second division clubs from Greece and they lost every game by a blow out.

The second leagues in good European basketball countries are full professional leagues. They are not what you think they are. This summer NCAA Division I teams played second division Spanish clubs and they lost every single game they played. And the Spanish clubs were basically playing their youth squads in the games.

You are confusing two different things here. NCAA is NOT the equivalent of "B" leagues in Europe. It's more the equivalent of the YOUTH leagues in Europe. Take as an example the Nike International Junior Tournament. That's more like an AAU level.

And the Under-20 European Championship is more like an NCAA level. The second leagues in good European basketball countries are well above NCAA Division I level. I don't think the best NCAA team could win even 1 game out of 10 against an average team from Italy's second division.

its like a freaking civil war up on clutch fans...

here's the deal, d-league works and we are making it work for us. what the hell else would we do? and as of this season, we are making the MOST of the new rule to work for us where we can constantly move players back and forth between the d-league and nba.

morey and co know there are stretches where the vipers don't have games, so they recall them up to the rockets and get them to practice with the team and travel with the team as they wouldn't get playing time otherwise. then they are sent back once the games are on in the dleague or if we can't find them playing time with the rockets which i think completely works well.

yeah, maybe soon they might mix up the PF as we could get some work around that spot but you can't use the parsons example as the proof. at the time we had just lost battier (yes, it was the previous season) but we had no SF. Currently we are stacked with PFs and they've been average if not solid, hence Jones and Motie have been around the d-league and not had much playing time but we might see that change very soon.

    quit fighting amongst yourselves fools.

The Rockets are using only one power forward and that's Patterson. Smith is a center and Morris is a small forward.

And Sampson played Jones when he was coaching the team when McHale was out. He played him for 20 minutes against the Lakers _ 4 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 stls, 1 block, 8 points. And for 30 minutes against Utah _ 8 rebounds and 12 points.

Sampson played him but McHale doesn't so that leads me to believe that D-Mo and Jones not seeing any significant minutes is strictly McHale's decision. Which is not a good one.

Morey mostly drafted offensive players (preceiving more offensive skills = more upside) in the 1st round while he usually drafted supposed defensive players or specialists in the 2nd. But coaches usually determine playing time on the defensive ability of players, that's why it seemed the 2nd round guys got playing time faster than 1st round guys. At least, that's my explanation.

Rocket Booster. You don't need to explain what a b league in Europe is to us. We know. When I say the NCAA Is the equivalent of many professional b leagues in Europe, I'm talking about level of training and play. They can dust most the b leagues in Europe, certainly if you consolidate them into 16 teams. Our training and the kids' love for the game is the best in the world. By far. Now if we can just get the nba to stop playing so many games and allow more practice time in the top tier league

I'm not saying more on this after this. No. NCAA teams would have no chance at beating teams from second divisions in good European basketball countries. Absolutely NO CHANCE.

The level of the NCAA is nowhere near the level of second divisions in Spain, Italy, Greece. Sorry, but you obviously don't know anything about European basketball.

at least heypartner has been in Europe to watch basketball over there....can you say the same Ohmms? It's an established fact you are in northern Arkansas, how can you presume to be so much more knowledgeable than he on the subject? He has access to the same things you have from his computer.

The difference is, heypartner actually knows basketball and has lived in Europe.

I don't think he is. Most of his posts has him dismissing every other PG that isn't Lin. I seem to recall a rant against Rubio and he just bumped a Llull thread with similiar intent.

    Ha, is that Ohmms?

I was actually wondering what happened to him. I think my favorite was his prediction of how Jan Vesely was going to be a much much better player than Motiejounas. It remains to be seen what Dmo turns into, but Vesely has been terrible.

You don't seem to grasp the difference between an all-star team who has never played together vs a club team on their own turf. Those D-leaguers were there to have sex with the natives. They had no other stake in the match.

It's like saying the Dynamo beat Chelsea in Houston...and claiming MLS is better than the Premier league. smh.

    You are an idiot.

That's a lie. Fact is: it was 2nd tier NCAA teams playing the top tier ACB teams.

The NCAA team touring Europe in the Summer is nothing more than a recruiting campaign to get European players to apply to those schools. smdh

You are talking about Stanford playing Real Madrid. I went to that game in 2011. and then Boston College and Villanova went last summer. They played FC Barcelona and CB Estudiantes. My friend from Boston went to those games, because you know why...because he is an FC Barcelona season ticket holder.

    Dude, you just lie.

And by NCAA rules, the colleges can't force their players to go to Europe on tour. It is voluntary.

I warned you not to underestimate my knowledge of the Euroleague. Now, would you like to talk about the German league and Italian league with me, and my friends with season tickets to those teams??

The NCAA teams on tour that you talk about all played the ACB teams...not second tier. IN EXHIBITION GAMES. And yes, they got toasted. But why did you lie and say they only played b-league spanish teams.

We didn't see Kentucky and Duke go there. But it doesn't matter. I never said they could beat ACB teams. You bring a b-league team to the US to play in March Madness...and let's see if they can go undefeated and win the tourney. And that is our talent spread over 64 teams.

    Liar
