People only pay attention to the box score. Beverley is the perfect fit and makes no money. Unless Morey can grab a star PG (no, Rondo isn't in this group), then Beverley is the guy.

First off, he is not the hardest worker on the team this offseason....that would be DMo. Second, 2 assists a game is not even close to being acceptable from a point guard playing with 2 all-stars on the floor. 40% 2 pointer rate is too low for a starting PG. What it all comes down to is that Patrick Beverly is an excellent backup PG on a contending NBA team.

Did you miss the part where his usage rate is 68th out of 71 NBA point guards.

How many assists do you think is acceptable for a guy who handled the ball less than, well, damn near everybody.

It depends...if we trade him or let him go, then the answer is yes. If we don't trade him or let him go, then I don't know, we have never done that before.

Beverley is a soon to be free agent so Morey will probably trade him.

I thought ball dominant Rondo/any other good player ever mentioned doesn't fit because Harden is also ball dominant? So now Beverley doesn't fit either? What do you guys really want?

Beverly still can improve. I'll reserve judgement until I see how he's progressed this season.

I have a bad feeling that knee injury will cause a lingering issue throughout the season.

Hell no. He sucks. He's the Rick fox of point guards and that's not what we need at the pg.

This would be a development of the language culture in china. Chinese is a future less language so the people develop their identitys around the present as opposed to some 'attainable' future.

The question is not whether Beverley is the PG of the future but rather that whether he is right now the PG that the Roxs needs to contend. The window for this team to contend is right now. I don't understand why Roxs fans always indulge into future hypotheticals when the acquisition of Howard signalled that the team entered in championship or bust mode. The same applies to the Cavs who with the acquisition of Lebron are in win-now mode. They can't waste time sitting on their asses and pondering whether Wiggins will pan out in a few years. For teams with elite players on the wrong side of their prime years, dithering is a mortal endeavour.

I want to keep him as a Rocket for life, but I think the Rockets can do better at the starter spot, and have him as the 3rd guard off the bench.

I love the character, and edge this guy brings to the team though. He signifies pretty much the exact personality Id like to see this team bring into the near future.

With a ball dominant shooting guard, it limits his ability to rack assists. Still, Bev is talented enough to do more on offense. I would be curious to see what is our record when he scores 10 points or more? I am guessing pretty good.

He isn't a cornerstone but he will continue to be our "roleplayer" starting PG until we either land a significant upgrade in free agency or trade, or he gets a high contract offer.

He is great alongside Harden. Not sure why people have an obsession with assists. We had a top five offense last year with Harden as the ball handler. People may not like the terribly misplaced title of "iso ball" but it is extremely effective.

Bev has been great to us and that is for sure. Great hustle and he beings tenacity on defense that is so lacking in the backcourt. But we really need to add a playmaker next to Harden in the current offense. I wasn't the biggest fan of Lin, but he was important to the offense.

If Harden is the only guy dribbling the ball, be ready for those ISOs. Harden is very talented however, so if McHale can mange to build up the Rocket's half court then we'll be in good shape, in spite of having one playmaker.

Its ironic that in a post where you condemn the chinese language as well as its people, you demonstrate the inability to comprehend the post of the guy you quoted. Op complains about the plethora of trade threads which happens on EVERY fan forum, and you somehow get china from all that. Smh

You called it right. Including the playoffs, when he scored over 10 point in a game last season, we were 24-6. This is a correlation, as it doesn't show causation, but there does seem to be some sort of relationship.

It is sorted by W/L first and then by date of game played.

Note: GmSc is game score and it is an advanced stat. 10 is considered an average performance.

When people say things like this, I wonder if they even watch the Rockets play.

Depends. We'll see how the free agency plays out next summer. Will Morey need to let Pat go for "flexibilty"?
