The doctor can't give you anything to reduce the amount of time the flu virus is in the body, but obviously the doctor can use some tools to make the symptoms better, allowing Yao to play sooner. IV hydration and some prescription meds will help Yao recover sooner (or feel better sooner) than without treatment.
I can accept the IV treatment to replace the fluids loss, other than that Yao's better off staying home by letting his mom feeds him her chicken soup and herbal tea. If your're into natural stuff my favorites for the flu are; Ester C, Oleuropein(Olive Leaf extract), Colostrum, they work better than any of the dangerous prescription meds(especially antibiotics) minus the side effects.
There are two nationally televised games next week. It would be ashame if he missed both. Oh well, just hope he doesn't have encephalitis.
They bash Yao to feel better about themselves! And for those haters, do you realize this is the first game he'll miss in about 2 1/2 seasons on top of all the CHINA basketball that he played, hate all you want but at least give him that.
It's something you have to live with. Like all the SF haters, and Boki haters, etc..... People just can't love the team as a whole. Sad....I guess the hate is now completely at Mo and Howard. Can't think of any other rox.....besides our NY coach.
So basically we can expect a thread after the game, either "Yao holds the team back" or "Without Yao, Rockets is nothing"?
For every ten Yao lovers there's one Yao haters. That's just life. It's impossible everyone will like you.
Good stat. Here's another one. Yao was the last member of his draft class to miss a game. Everyone else has missed time before now/Yao.
Actually they did not count the 5 playoff games and the 2 All Stars appearances into this 193 games. Yao Ming played in all 82 games for his rookie and sophomore seasons, and 29 matches in his third. If they include the above 7, then he will have played 200 straight games in regular NBA seasons, if one considers play-off series and All Stars game also part of a full NBA Season.
Well it was pure BS and rumour that Yao Ming fainted and hospitalized in shoot-out practice. He did not even go to practice after returning from Cleveland. As reported in sina.com, he picked up influenza while on the road in Milwaukee due to the extremely cold weather there. He was totally tired and exhausted and vomited in his bathroom back into hotel after that humiliation loss to the Bucks. The influenza was still bugging him in Cleveland. He was sneezing and coughing and feeling numb and feeble in his limbs upon arrival in Cleveland. He took pills prescribed by Rockets team doctor and went to bed immediately and slept until 5 hours before the Cavalier game. He started and played and stayed on court for 26 minutes, but again got exausted and tired that he vomited again back into his hotel. Looks like the influenza has worsen to become a high fever/bronchitis as reported by Jonathan Feigen in Houston Chronicle today. Let's hope he will take sufficient rest and recovers in time for next week's games.
