So an entire year of success isn't proof enough?. Seems like we may have more than one failure on this team if that's the case.

Sounds like Rudy made a good choice then. Hakeem might have been tired from defending a giant. Never question the great Rudy T!

So why did you make it? Did you not see the Fire McHale thread last year?

Anyway, I would think the answer obvious. If he wins a championship, then he's championship caliber. If not, then he's not. Because this is in the end a BS title that doesn't really mean anything and ultimately has mostly no bearing on the quality of the coach.

Which begs the obvious question. Do you think he can lead us to a championship? Or no?

Coaching is overrated. Especially with Morey handing him the X's and O's. All he has to do is manage the players so everyone gets along. Fortunately for the Rockets there are no egos like Kobe's. Yeah Haren is a bit of an ego guy but even after McHale told him to reel it in a little on his ISO's he did. He didn't admit he he was wrong but he corrected it the next game. Unlike Kobe who shot nothing at all in a critical game 7 just to prove a point.

So McHale shouldn't have too much trouble. Just follow Morey's game plan, get them to play D, move the ball and run in transition and if nothing's there than get it to Howard. Howard takes the open shots and passes to the open shooters when he is doubled and tripled. As long as he doesn't yank on Harden or Howard like he did on Lowry he'll be okay.

Do you think Erik Spoelstra would lead the Rockets to a championship?

Do you think Phil Jackson can lead the Orlando Magic to a championship? Or no?

That could be true. Because after the fiasco in Minnesota I was shocked to see McHale get a head coaching job. Many GMs bring in coaches who will follow their direction. Rudy T didn't even want the head coaching job but CD talked him into it and taught him everything he knew. Look at Miami. Pat brought in the video tape guy.

I'm not saying McHale is a YES man though. But I think Morey does have his hands in the cookie jar. Especially since he's the one that picked the assistant coaching staff. And those assistants deserve a lot of credit because McHale's coaching record is horrible without them.

lin will be considered a scrub pg to loh til he wins a champ
harden will not be considered a true allstar outside of htown til he wins a champ.
parsons will still be questioned by sas "who the fk is cp?" til he wins a champ.
d12 will be said to be a crying baby by the lakers fans til he actually wins a champ.
mchale will be named mcfail by lof til he wins a champ title as a coach.

The question should be; Can Rockets win a ring with current roster with McHale as HC. I have reservation, wait and see.

He is not. A coach can be carried to RANGZ (Spoelstra). If Heat were coached by championship calibre coach, no one would even think of having a chance against them.

Coach McHale deserves respect, even if you don't care for him on a personal level, or disagree with many of his decision on the court.

too true, they all got something to prove. We shouldn't hype it up.
Remember what happened to the Lakers? man I couldn't stop laughing at them, we just need to move steady and surely towards the ring.

Did you watch the finals? Dwayne Wade played below his ability. Bosh was not exactly effective. Spoelstra made constant changes to the defense that worked against a hot Spurs team. The Spurs had a player set a record for three pointers yet the Heat pulled it off. That's because Spoelstra pulled strings and most of them worked.

This finals was Spoelstra's win, he out smarted POP.
Is Spoelstra the first NBA coach to get a Ring with Asian heritage?

No doubt McHale is a good coach! Is he a good head coach? I have some reservation.

If you ask Kyle Lowery, he will give you some answer!

Yes. Because Kyle Lowry was so much better before McHale, and so much better afterwards. We can truly see how bad a coach McHale is based on Lowry's career.
