Is Dorsey un-cutable? I know his salary is guaranteed so he gets paid regardless but can we still cut him to free up a roster spot for a useful person?
I wouldn't say it was the worst signing ever. The OP is clearly overreacting. But Dorsey was supposed to be signed as Howard's backup. The fact that he became third string behind an undrafted rookie tells you something about this signing.
He's a bad signing. Not sure if it's Morey's worst, but he won't be putting it on his CV under accomplishments  The things that hurts the most are that 1) His money is guaranteed 2) It probably cost Adrien a roster spot. 3) Oh yeah, he's absolutely horrificly terrible.
Dorsey is getting paid $1 mil per year to sit on the end of the bench, be a good cheerleader, and provide 6 fouls when called upon. He can do that just fine. When he is asked to play meaningful minutes and contribute this is when he gets exposed. We have zero depth in the 4/5 position.
It wasn't pretty, but the Rockets get annihilated last night if Dorsey isn't on the team. Motiejunas is not a rim protector and the Rockets could not defend with him at center. In the 3 and half minutes that Motiejunas was center, Lakers outscored the Rockets by 11.
If they played DMo more and Dorsey less, the Rockets probably win. Dorsey is completely and totally worthless on a basketball court.
After watching Black & Dorsey I was wishing we Chuck Hayes back. He may not be tall but he at least made an effort. Would like to have him back as 3rd center.
Dorsey sucked last night. Def did not play NBA level of basketball. He played kinda raw like his rookie days.
LOL, McHale tried your strategy last night twice in the fourth quarter and it didn't work both times. Black was worn out in the 4th quarter.
Kelvin Cato, Vin Baker, Stromile Swift, Hasheem Thabeet, Maciej Lampe, Loren Woods, David Andersen, Joey Dorsey... We have a really strong tradition of big-men in the last 15 years.
Yao Ming, Dwight Howard, Omer Asik, Carl Landry's teeth I will say Dorsey has played worse than I expected as he looked like a decent backup in his time with Toronto. That said, I stand by that Motiejunas is a much worse center than him currently.
