No. Is that plain enough for the OP? Are we going to have threads like this after every loss in which Lin doesn't play in the closing minutes? Why isn't there a thread claiming discrimination against Turks? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dude scored 0 pts and the game was a loss! Before it was Bev brought more energy and after an off day, he is now all around better player... And this from the same people who said Lin's performance is too small a sample.

Because there is no history of discriminating against Turks in this country.

With Asik it's justifiable since he's having a great season!

The better question is... Is Jeremy Lin good enough to warrant all this attention? I hardly think so.

I don't think for a second that all those scouts, GMs, and coaches that overlooked Lin thoughout his career did it CONSCIOUSLY because he is Asian. There is so much pressure on them to create the best possible basketball team that throwing away an asset because of race is ridiculous. Nevertheless, I do not doubt for a second that it played a role in the fact that until last year, he was consistently overlooked. No one is completely objective and intuition plays a large role in the decisions that everyone makes. With so much uncertainty in the scouting process, I can only imagine that intuition plays an even larger role for scouts, GMs, and coaches. But where does this intuition come from? If, hypothetically, every great player that a scout has ever seen wears an orange hat, if he sees that orange hat on a prospect, his intuition will probably tell him that this is also a great player. Does it mean he will overlook all the other more relevant aspects in favor of the orange hat? Certainly not, but it will nevertheless push him in that direction, and, in borderline cases, push him over the fence. Likewise, if that scout has never seen a 6'3 Asian player that could ball, it will affect his judgment of that player. I don't think it is a coincidence that the only player from the ivy league (read not given a Div. 1 scholarship) to make it to the NBA since the 1950s is the only Asian American player to make it to the NBA since the 1940s.

(Like others have mentioned, a 7'6 player with skills will always get serious looks so don't bring up Yao. Although, it is worth mentioning that in spite of Yao's incredible height, he still had many doubters early on. Charles Barkley said he would "kiss [Kenny Smith's] ass" if Yao scored more than 19 points in one of his rookie-season games.")

I don't think a platoon situation at PG is all that bad. I think Lin will become more consistent with time.

Lin is getting phased out of the rotation because his skill set doesn't fit with the team.

Good ****ing God, no. Thank you for asking. A man states his own opinion on the radio and some folks can barely contain themselves because of their "dissapointment". Wow ****ing wow people have lost the plot. It's either love and praise Jeremy or have your ass chewed by a bunch of nuthuggers.

its not a race thing, the fact Lin "tore it up" in high school and in college means very little to NBA. The fact you were good in high school and college does not necessarily mean that translates to NBA level.

Lin is hardly the first good college player that's "snubbed" in the NBA.
Just take a look at the list of say for example ACC player of the year since 2000 you have

1999-2000 Chris Carrawell: 2nd round NBA draft, never actually played in NBA
2000-20001 Joseph Forte: late 1st round pick, NBA scrub that only lasted 2 years in the league
2001-2002 Juan Dixon: 1st round 17th pick, serviceable NBA bench warmer
2003-2004 Julius Hodge: late 1st round pick, was out of the league in 2 years
2010-2011 Nolan Smith: late 1st round pick, scrub

they were all better players than Lin during college, non of them are Asian and yet they were all drafted either in late 1st round pick or in 2nd round and none of them got much playing time in the NBA.

Lin makes too many mistakes. His ballhandling, IMO, is too poor to be a starting PG in the NBA. And defensively, he's mediocre.

Just looking at the facts Lin is being phased out of this team by mchale it's clear as day. Lin will soon be playing the Landry fields role in ny when although he technically was a starter he didn't play starter mins. Clearly either mchale goes or Lin goes.
