Is Jeremy Lin best when he is primary scorer/ball handler?

Why do people compare Harden to Melo.

Harden and Melo are completely different players.

Harden is a playmaker, he is a good passer, and he has the ability to score at an efficient rate.

Melo is a scorer, that's it.

Harden has had success playing as the 3rd option on a team that went to the finals, so why anyone thinks he is a ballhog I have no idea.

Jeremy Lin needs to play like a ball handling PG and Harden needs to play like a catch and shoot/drive/pass SG

no more possessions with Harden initiating. that is what kills us

The problem obviously is the Harden superstar status. LA has suffered it for many years. Stand around and watch Kobe. It does not happen in Miami because Bosh and Wade can and do take over games. I do hope that Harden's absence helps the Rockets understand who they are. It is a long slow journey from a bunch of nubes to a cohesive NBA team.

No, Lin is obviously at his best when he is standing their in the corner while Harden is dribbling the ball for about 15 seconds.

Clearly Lin is better as the primary ball-handler, he doesn't necessarily need to be the primary scorer though. He just needs the ball to do something, similar to well......every great PG.

Harden is holding linsanity back! There's a reason harden came off the bench for the thunder! Time to look into trading harden or stop him from being a ballhog.

Lin doesn't need to be first option. What he does need is to be free to be the PG and the green light to score. He still scored at a solid clip even with Melo and STAT... the Knicks just made sure that he had the freedom to run the offense and handle the ball like other PG's do.

He's a rhythm player, and if you keep the ball out of his hands half the game, it really, really shows.

It's just one game, but it does look more and more like they really need to stagger Harden and Lin's minutes.

If we really are waiting, then we're screwed. Harden is 5th in the league in PPG. Even if you reduce his minutes to 36mpg, he's STILL 5th in the league in PPG. Melo, Durant, Lebron, Kobe are not available.

The best the Rockets can do is put together either a Pistons like team where Harden is Billups, or the Celtics team where Harden is Pierce. What you're suggesting requires hitting the jackpot in the draft of the highest order.

    Everyone shut up.

Lin and Harden can and will coexist, they will be the best backcourt in the NBA.

    Book it.

Fck all that noise.. How will the coaches adjust their sets, and rotations so that both Harden and Lin thrive.

Wade and Lebron played pretty well next to each other despite neither being a great outside shooter and had a clear pecking order last year. Perhaps it was just Wade's sheer talent (or Lebron's) that prevented him from suffering a noticeable decline when playing with Bron. We'll see if Lin can thrive as the second option on offense the rest of the year or if he's just too one-note to be a net positive on the court without sky high usage.

Then again, maybe Lin just got hot tonight.

Only 1 other player in NBA history has scored 38, with 7 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals against the Spurs...I'm not sure if any of you have heard of him, his name is Michael something, maybe Jardon, or was it Jorden...

Lin would play so much better with K Martin instead of Harden since Martin doesn't hog the ball that much.

Lin should be the facilitator and Harden is a better finisher. But Lin needs to handle the ball so he can get into his own rhythm and that is when he's at his best.

This isn't difficult, just let Harden be the one spotting up more often.

Harden is a very good shooter and a respected shooter. Lin? Not so much and he isn't a very good shooter especially when it comes to spotting up.

Lin seems to be one of those players that is better at shooting off the dribble rather than spotting up. Harden seems to be the same and it doesn't make much of a difference to him.

There is a reason why Harden tends to struggle in the 4th and fatigue is one of them. The Rockets entire playbook when Harden is playing is Harden isolation or Harden pick and roll. Rockets are overusing him.

this...he just needs to attack. TD ran the point a lot in this game, but jeremy took it to the hoop more.

He's really good when he hits his shots, too.

Ya just like in NY right.....he was like this until Melo came back...then his numbers fell off because melo is JOE ISO....so is harden....this backcourt does not work...but I will say this, if the rockets had a really good big , one who could really finish the rockets would have won that game tonight easily
