Is James Harden the laziest player in the NBA when he doesn't have a ball in his hand?

    Fantastic work @larsv8 !

@fchowd0311 ... gig is up. No one believes you're a Rockets fan or have an objective view of Harden. Take your **** and GTFO.

Partially true, MDA is the coach unlike Pop who has everything in his hand, if he makes Harden mad, he is going to be fired soon. Also MDA system is not based on the ball movement.

curious who do you think could have replaced harden all this years and single handedly carried the rockets to a championship?

Need find a better coach, not replacing Harden who is a superstar. At one time, I am thinking Jason Kidd may be ok for this team, now he is in the Lakes. It is not up to fans to find a good coach, that is GM and owner job.

This topic has been brought up numerous times. Harden's apologists will always give him excuses. The most egregious is that that's how he takes his defender away from the play.

I've noticed that a few seasons ago when his defense was the subject. He wasn't a bad on-ball defender. He just let his man got away to much because he was disengaged when his man didn't have the ball. It's actually Harden's pattern on both ends of the floor.

He also ends the playoffs kind of shitty shooting wise. The exception being 2015

yeah but how can you truly be a team's fan when you truly hate the teams best and most valuable player and not have any argument based on facts?

You do realize you said this same thing before last year too?

The year before that as well........

There is a pattern here...... every year you claim Harden is over weight or poorly conditioned..... every year he comes back better than the year before and then over the course of the season it comes out that Harden put in a lot of work in the off season.

This year is no different, I know for a fact he put in a lot of work this off season as well.

I don't really see how you can believe this idea of being out of shape when it is proven to be false every season.

Yes and last year James Harden was tied with LeBron James and Kevin Durant for total distance traveled per game.

Well ahead of players like ......... Patrick Beverley and Chris Paul and Draymond Green.

James Harden was in the top 10% in the NBA in distance traveled on a basketball court per game.

With all due respect, you simply are not in any position to draw this conclusion.

He travels as much distance on the basketball court as LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

LeBron and KD travel the same distance on the basketball court as James Harden so try again.

Steph Curry is a far worse defender than James Harden and doesn't even try to keep his man in front of him.

This thread is so ****ing dumb it's unbelievable. Is PJ Tucker "lazy" off the ball because he doesn't move? Is House? Is McLemore? Was Ariza?

This is our offensive system. You either handle the ball, you set picks, or you stand still...that's really it. Occasionally we do double screens, but not often. If Harden doesn't have the ball, that means he's not the ball handler. So his role is "stand still" just like everyone else on the team. Why do you think it should be different just for Harden. That's not how the offense works, we don't run a motion offense. If he doesn't have the ball it is literally his job to stand back and don't move to create space and to be ready to shoot a 3 if he gets the ball back.

Our offensive rank with this system in the past 4 years is 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd. I don't think we would be better if we had a bunch of off ball action killing our spacing.
