3rd, he could pass Malone eventually for sure, but regardless Harden is special and it's great to have a player who currently is in the top percent of the nba (if not the top).

I hope we get him more help soon, he'd probably avg 20 assists.

James will end up in the top 5, but he's not there yet, in my opinion. He needs playoff series wins and Finals appearances under his belt.

Hmmm does Malone's two MVPs mean more than Drexler's one championship? You don't have that second banner without Clyde.

He has a decent argument for 3rd best playoff player... when he wasn't voluntarily DNPing.

He needs to get the jewelry to be #2 in my mind. But he did save us from the mediocrity treadmill. Now we are just stuck in the above average but not good enough to win treadmill.

James is the best player that has ever picked up a ball.
Why the hell do people on this site keep referencing Hakim? Hakim Warrick is trash guys, I don't know what you guys see in him. And Moses? WTF. Moses is a biblical figure, this is the NBA. I don't see what he has to do with anything. Stacy or Tracy or whatever the hell her name is? All I know is that there has never been a female player in the NBA.

You guys all have zero basketball knowledge.

ONE MVP > ONE Ring as 2nd best player

Take the team accomplishment first every time, but individually as a player, the MVP is better.

Lin has to be number 2 after Hakeem for putting Rockets on the map for international viewers. Third Malone and fifth will be Harden right after Dwight.

Yes, they do. He carried us on his back to the finals in a time when the NBA was much tougher....with not just great teams...dynasties. As many of us older folks know, only twice did a team other than the Lakers get out of the West in the eighties. Each time the Celtics were waiting for us.Frankly, taking them to 6 was quite an accomplishment for these Rockets.. (If Sampson is healthy, I say the other team wins it all)

Sure, he only played 6 years here, but....It's a stout 6.

    AND..Besides, all that...He groomed Dream.

While James is closing ground he isn't there yet IMO.

2 MVPs in the era of Bird, Kareem and Magic pretty much means that you have to win a championship to surpass him.

I get it if you don't put him number 2 but not too 5?

There is def not 5 rockets better than him.

Hakeem Moses and I guess elvin Hayes are the only ones who you can def say are better although I think harden is better than Hayes and will pass up Moses too.

Clyde was good enough in his career to have an argument for the second best player. And you are absolutely right, we would not have won that second championship without him.

But his best years were in Portland, not here.

Moses might be remembered as much or even more for his time in Philly compared to his time here. But he won two MVPs in Houston and only one in Philly. On that team, he was with Julius Erving and he didn't need to carry as big of a load. Even though he won his championship in Philly and you could make a case for either team, I think Moses' best years were here.

For me, it is an easy Hakeem at 1, Moses at 2. And yes, I can go ahead and put Harden at 3. Both Ralph and Yao were talented enough to break into that group, but neither stayed healthy enough for it.
