Beat OKC WITH Westbrook in OKC. Beat Mavs in Dallas Just beat Indiana. Raptors without Gay are a top 3 seed in the East.
This is funny : <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The conundrum has thwarted science for ages: How can one benefit from getting rid of Rudy Gay without acquiring him first?</p>— Ben Detrick (@bdetrick) <a href="https://twitter.com/bdetrick/statuses/418571506893856768">January 2, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I mean...they have zero chance of beating the Pacers or Heat in a 7 game series, so no, I can't take them seriously. Funny how bad Rudy Gay is for a team however.
Raptors are playing like the rockets of a couple years ago that kept getting the 9th seed. A bunch of solid players that play with heart. No egos or ISO ball. They are winning with defense though.
That is an awesome tweet! Raptors have to be taken seriously as a possible 3rd seed in the EC. The 3rd seed is the only thing in the EC worth discussing until the conference finals.
They, however, have the benefit of playing in a much easier division in conference. I remember, during the "in between years", sports illustrated saying that a team like our Rockets (circa 2008) could be like a 6th seed in the East, but had no chance in the West.
And look he's leading that team, bulldog Kyle Lowry. He probably couldn't stand how soft McHale was, he saw the writing on the wall. Oh my bad, things terms like "soft" and "heart" don't mean anything on these forums
They definitely have no chance at beating Miami or Indiana. Yet, they're a legit 3rd best team in the east. Can beat any team in the NBA on any given night if not taken seriously.
yeaaaaah no. depends what you mean by "take seriously" are they tanking? no. are they competitive? not in the postseason. are they a somewhat dificult matchup in the season? sure!
Too bad that Rockets team wasn't in the East - would've been a perennial 3rd seed and talked about as a 'championship contender' eventually... lol.
it was a very good trade for both teams...Sacramento gets another guy that can score and toronto now can play Terrence Ross free him up and let him develop.
