Is it possible that the Rockets knew last week that Allen Iverson would be getting waived and that is why Pops Mensah Bonsu was waived? So then we would have an open roster spot for AI but right now he is just checking up some other options before he signs with us? I know its unlikely but its a possibility. We have no real shooting guard. Put him in with the backcourt and we got a solid scorer.
    C: Hayes/Andersen
    PF: Scola/Landry/Cook
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    SG: Iverson/Budinger/Taylor
    PG: Brooks/Lowry
    Inj: T-Mac and Yao
    DLeague: Joey Dorsey

    Then, when T-Mac returns
    C: Hayes/Andersen/Scola
    PF: Scola/Landry/Cook
    SF: Ariza/Battier/Budinger
    SG: Iverson/McGrady/Budinger
    PG: Brooks/Lowry/Iverson
    Inj:Yao
    DLeague: Dorsey and Taylor

This is a terrible idea, he does not fit our team. And I am a big fan of Iverson.

Right now every Rockets player on the courtis a team player(except maybe Andersen). AI is everything but a team player.

No, no, no. Seems we released Pops so he could get more time elsewhere according to his agent in the "Pops signs with Toronto thread".

Interesting thought, but we don't need another SG.

The same that goes for bringing Iverson here, goes for bringing back Tracy.

iverson is not a sg. he will get eaten alive on the defensive end.

So - just a weird thought for you

    BUT

Let's just pretend that we wanted to pick up Iverson (for a second alright?) - there's no compulsion on us to waive anyone PRIOR to that happening, we would only need to waive someone WHEN we picked him up.

I think 'epic fail' describes the speculation this thread is based upon.

    Hmm, let's see.

    you're saying, we're going to waive Pops, a 6 ft 9 Fw-C...

and sign a star that's been bounced off of two teams in a row, who's only 6 ft tall...

we don't need another AB. frankly, AB is a much better player. i can't see how two 6 ft guards will help us win more games. we need more SIZE.
